Greed and Ling's argument after Bido's death always gives me goosebumps. Ling's killer line of "If you turned your back on something you wanted, you don't deserve to call yourself Greed" is so good and the VA work just elevates it completely

At the beginning I think they were talking more about gags. Tropes are reoccurring/reused storylines and character roles while gags are the individual jokes and skits

And i think they are specifically referencing tropey gags. Like a pervy old man character, or internal dialogue monologues, or ect. Ect.

You guys might already know this since you’ve finished it, but when the writer wrote fmab they knew how they were gonna end it and how they were going to get there. All the episodes build to the end, there’s never any uncertainty showing in the writing where the author is still writing and hasn’t quite figured it all out. And when it ends it ends, there’s no other arc to wrap up or any unfinished business, which is one of the things I love about fmab. Lots of shows fall off because they don’t know when to end but fmab reaches its peak and stops while it’s ahead.

It’s never confirmed if I remember correctly but it’s heavily insinuated that all of the Armstrongs have some level of super strength. Notice how she easily tosses and physically handles her brother. And in a previous episode she easily tosses a heavy Rocket Launcher to one of her men with one hand like it was a broom. The little sister also lifted a Piano over her head when Yoko tried to rob them 😂

Grumman isn't actually plotting to take over anything, that was what Miles was imagining he was thinking lol he wasn't actually saying/thinking that. As for slapping Rebecca's ass, I *think* he was using that as a covert way to slip the paper to her (by getting it into a rear pocket). The same paper she slipped under Hayate's collar, and Riza slipped into the cigarettes.

I don't think it's the tropes you are having a problem with, it's the gags anime use to lighten the tone. Some of them feels out of the blue or over the top, so it puts some people off. So if you'll watch JoJo, I also agree you are not ready, because the whole concept is a extreme gag on the "manly" trope but it takes it seriously and kicks it up so hard that it is it's own genre.

Lan Fan, Ling and the old ninja guy all can sense homonculi because they are trained to be more "spiritual" in a way of the east and they easily notice when thousands of souls are in a single spot. I guess it feels heavy and unnatural, so it's hard to ignore and even in the dark they know where it is.

Who else immediately checked to see if this one was 11 minutes? I think the show cooks at this point because a lot of the first half was readapting material from the original (some of it, especially in first third, that was arguably done better before). When Ed's voice jumps an octave and he becomes poorly drawn screeching creature or Al becomes poorly drawn inflatable flailing arm man, when peoples faces approach from opposite sides of the screen with a nonsensical background, when Ross has an imaginary spotlight on her and soliloquys to her parents, the way people snap in half and wiggle their butts nonsensically to show excitement. As much as the story and writing of this show makes it a timeless gem, these things make it cringe and annoying whenever they are happening

They've gooootta watch FMA 2003. I think they'll enjoy the more sombre tone even more. it has a lot less tone-deaf silly moments during the more serious parts And it would be a good opportunity to compare the sub, as the good majority of dub cast from 2003 reprised their role in FMAB (fun fact: Alphonse's dub voice grew up so he couldn't reprise as Al's voice in FMAB, but he voiced Hohenheim instead!)

Spoiler maybe* If you want more lore, there exists an earlier version and movie that are objectively darker, less fluffy, not wholesome and incomplete, hence this remake exists to make up or take away those aspects.
@lexzeyfercronus2 ай бұрын
Only issue is,that version thends to be incoherent the more you watch it ,it has a lot of things left unexplored resorting to be darker for the sake of it and wastes good characters, focusing in the uninteresting ones,not to mention the unneeded filler very early on.

No, this version exists to tell the story the mangaka originally waned to tell, not the one made up by someone else cause the source material was incomplete.
