@@fadedones Im a Catholic convert from Protestantism. We’re currently staying with my mother in law while we save for our home. She is a very devout Catholic. Her statues and pictures have weeped on multiple occasions, however this time I actually witnessed it firsthand. We had a situation at that time where a child in the family was being sexually abused by an outsider and the child came to stay with us because of that. It was that child who saw the statue weeping first. She said she had a feeling when she walked past and she looked and saw the weeping. She said she felt protected by Mary’s mantle. I think it was to strengthen her faith and know Jesus is with her and Mary is watching over her.

@@LIZZIE-lizzie Only a person of faith would believe that olive oil dripping from the eyes of a statue is proof of their religious conviction. It's more likely that this was some sort of a hoax. If this truly was a divine miracle, the important question would be: Why is a statue crying olive oil. Why not actual tears? Why was it crying from only 1 eye and not both? Maybe someone was eating a salad close to the statue and through some aggresive motions with their fork sprinkled oilive oil towards the statue and it happened to hit the statue under one of its eyes. There's a million different ways some person or group of person could have either intentionally or unintentionally got oil to appear there. But to think that a powerful being like a god creating the universe randomly would troll humanity and make a statue cry a drop of olive oil from one eye? Now that's some intense coping if I've ever heard of it.

The same thing happened in Rockingham, West Australia, a few years ago. My friends mum belonged to a congregation called "our lady of Lords" and had a statue of Mary in her home, that she claimed was weeping tears. I didn't believe it at first, but then it made the newspapers and massive crowds began visiting from all over the world. Anyway... to cut a long story short, I asked my mate to let me in so I could have a look. It was definitely weeping something that felt a bit thicker then water and slightly oily. It wept from the eyes and hands and continued to do so for weeks. I know it sounds too crazy to believe but I don't think it was a trick. There was no way to put fluid inside it, cos it was one solid carving. In the end I think the church took it and I haven't heard anything since. Bizarre.

I'm not Christian or religious, but I do believe in the subject of the supernatural. What fascinates me is that the statues that get this phenomenon are Virgin Mary and Catholic related ones, and I've heard of weird stories involving Mariology. It's almost as if Mary, the mother of Jesus, was blessed in someway* and the phenomenon of weeping statues may have something to do with emotion and praise, such as an immense devotion and hail to the Lord or great sadness over the death of Jesus, especially for Mary since she is mourning the death of her child. Why does the fact of it being olive oil mean that it's unexplainable? If it were saline or hemoglobin I would be like... wtf? but, olive oil? seriously? Why don't they actually ask an expert who is not a member of the church in question? Nothing against Michael O'Neal but his qualifications are a master's in electrical engineering, he is not a plumbing engineer which would be better for this job. Michael O'Neal also runs a KZbin channel and has made it very clear he has been a devout Catholic his entire life, so the solution is naturally going to be one sided. Ask multiple experts, including ones who are not religious, get both sides of the argument.

So, olive oil in a colder, close to solid state, is applied to the eyes of the statue. This could be done before the congregation arrives. As the oil warms to room temperature, it starts to drip from the eyes giving the illusion of the statue crying. You’re welcome.

My mom in the late 1980- early 1990 was looking for spiritual guidance. Somewhere in Indiana or Ohio around that time , a woman claimed she got messages from mother Mary. The lady announced the date of the next message and my mom went. It was a farm and she said there were 80ish people there maybe less. The lady came out talked to a few who came. Then the sky got dark and the lady went to the center of her farm an a beam of light came from the clouds. My mom didn’t know what to do she just took pictures with her old Nikon at the light coming from the sky. Everyone asked the lady , what was the message she said “ save the children “. Weeks went by my mom filled up the Nikon and developed the film, forgetting what she had on it. She went threw the pictures at the farm and at first saw a pink orb coming out of the sky the next picture it was the form of the Virgin Mary. I have seen it. I wish I could upload pictures on here. Belief in God and Jesus is supposed to be just that. It is an act of Faith and contrition yet so many in the church are viewed as hypocrites because they are the ones that say you have to prove it to me. That's why others say that they don't go to church because of too much hypocrisy. It's no different than somebody who goes out 6 days in a row and commits deadly sins yet shows up at church on Sunday thinking that all will be forgiven. My faith in God has wavered at times when I was young but as an old man who has seen too many acts by God to help me on my way my faith is stronger than ever and shall never waver.

Interesting. I've heard of this statue from a paranormal video I watched months back. My thought on miracles is that they might be something that science hasn't found yet. This is because what was considered a miracle back then can be explained by science today. But who knows, maybe it is something divine. Anything is possible.
