I was introduced to this by a friend more than 40 years ago and every day since it gets fresher and more insperationally relevant each day of man's chaotic & nebulous survival.

My stepdad introduced me to the book a year earlier. I saw it while buying Quincy Jones' & The Isleys latest, so I got it for him. I played it more than he did.

This lyrical reading creates a pleasurable, if sometimes overly orchestrated, layer of background to words that deserve more than a dry intonation. It is best for those who are already familiar with the passages.

Just my personal opinion, but I think this could have done without the happy go lucky Christian chorus and chirpy music in the background.

B H I used to listen to this 40 years ago and think it magnificently produced Khalil’s words resonate hypnotically in Richards voice combined with the music

Try the version done by Paul Sparer. I confused this album with his. They are very similar except for the music. Some people enjoy the music. I prefer it without.
