The pros and cons of Modern Zangief

I have a friend who has cerebral palsy that hinders his ability to play fighters, even though he loves them. He is one of the sharpest players I've ever played and when it comes to the mental, he's got everything you need to be successful, but he can't always translate it into the game because of his condition. Modern controls help him do that, and the difference in his win rate in our friend group is dramatic. I think Capcom should be commended for developing Modern controls, both as a method for those who are learning AND those who have difficulty with the classic/normal controls. As you correctly point out in this video, the drawbacks are severe enough that you're going to want to graduate off of it ASAP if you can, especially when you're wanting to take the game seriously or to a pro level, but I really hope all fighters that need it find something like this added in the future.

i've been playing moder zangief for a year now, i can't pass the 1650mr. once opponently become good in neutral the game gets really difficult with M gief. On modern defense, instant ex spd is really strong in neutral, as a drive rush check and as whiff punish. The emotional damage alone is crazy

I play classic and modern but just in an average platinum level and i want share My thoughs. Pros: insta level 2. Faster air spd as Anti air, good for close jumps. Insta od spd against DR. The modern level 3 don't scale in long combos. Modern control feels good in gamepad. Less buttons help to keep it simple. Jump cancel is a little bit easier. ( But at My level who cares) Cons: You lose cr.MK. You lose jump HP. You lose st.HK. Insta air spd (modern and clásic input) overlaps with ground grabs so Is very tricky pull out for some combos(for some reason do insta air spd with up back + special Is more consistent that just up or up forward or classic input). Less buttons, less options to adapt. Overall i think if You play every day Is better just play classic at less that insta level 2 is too much fun for You, You are a fan of 4 button layout or You use gamepad. And I think if You want to play modern Is better pick classic a little bit first so you know well what modern lose. Please correct me if You feel i'm wrong in something, greetings.
