I remember doing this same thing with Scott summers back in the mid/late nineties. If you don’t know who he was look him up. He was very unique cause he rode a dam XR600!! And he could so rip on that heavy beast!! He had to be so strong and in such good shape to rock a XR600 for 3hrs!! Any way I was 250A which started first row and he was 4 stroke which started like 2 rows back. Once he passed I’d try so hard to stay with him and he just kept inching away!!! I just didn’t have the strength to run his pace for more than a few minutes. If I tried I’d never last the whole race. He was a machine!! I have always rode a YZ250. My last one was a 2001 and I’ve been on a 15 plus year break but have been riding street. Well I just picked up a 2013 YZ250 and can’t wait to get back out riding it. Just going to ride for fun I’m so stoked!!!

I can say I've been passed by Scott Summers also..we made the trip to hurricane mills( Loretta Lynn's)a few times I rode 4stroke b back then..now I ride the secca series in AL..but those guys were crazy fast..we'll all the pros are.

I was on row 63 and it was still amazing. Nothing was too blown out yet, except for the mudhole about 1/2 mile into test 2 that wasn't even a thing when your row came through. Got stuck for the first time ever and lost about 10 minutes, completely shot my race but like you said, conditions were the best I've ever experienced.
