I know this video is very long so thank you for watching and letting me know your thoughts. I know I definitely spoke more about the cons. I cut down a lot of what I said to make this video shorter 😂. You can tell that this wasn't an easy topic to discuss, but the fact that we were both able to discuss this on camera shows how far we are willing to go to make our marriage work. I think marriage is about going through big hurdles together and it's all about team work. As long as you both have that fighting spirit to make things work. Anything is possible. Of course you both have to trust the process and be on the same page 💪🏻 ❤

Proud of you both being willing to be vulnerable and discuss this sensitive but important topic.

It take so much patience and courage to share the cultural differences. Hope you two cherish and enjoy the cultural differences in relationship too.

Honestly, all the points you guys rounded up were my biggest issues before and during marriage with a locel HK girl. Appreciate your honesty and transparency - and these are the fundamental traits to tackle for both parties before settling down.. more of this- young couples with different cultural backgrounds will find stuff like this v informative (and relatable).

Really enjoyed watching this! I’ve been married for 23 yrs and yes, I’ve been through this too (I’m Japanese and my husband is Chinese)! You will find a mutually acceptable compromise and appreciate each other ❤

There are ups and downs in international marriage, but a romantic bond is wonderful.
@bensadventureblogger665811 ай бұрын
Thankfully, I wasn’t be able to raise like this but I still tended to be save and invest as much as I can. Doesn’t matter what difference of the Asian and the western culture. Sometimes earlier independent mindset will make you stronger. But intercultural marriages is not a problem.

I think these are the most common problems for most of the new couples. Intercultural marriage may add more to it, but you two will sure get over this by time. Just blink your eyes once, then 10 years gone. Blink another time, 20 years beyond. Life is short, value for what you have right now. I like all your videos.

You two are really brave to get married coz i thought language barrier was a really biggest issue considering you speak no Chinese and Kurt cannot clearly express himself in English. Have you two ever run into a situation that you cannot find the correct words to tell each other what you really think? btw, keep up the good work!
@KiekoM11 ай бұрын
Yes sometimes Kurt cannot find the words to express how he truly feels. In these situations we use translation apps and AI 😂

What a lovely couple!!! About the saving bit, from what I observed when I was study in NZ, ppl in west don’t really save up. They just spend every penny they’ve got in their pocket! Is kinda unusual for them to save up for nothing. No offence but you guy can try to get a better clip mics, that may improve the sound quality!!!
@KiekoM11 ай бұрын
There's definitely a lot of people who don't save but there's also a lot who do, like me 😂. I guess it really depends on the person and how serious they are about their future. My mum taught me and my brother from a young age how to save. I guess it depends on upbringing. As for the mic, I hear you. We actually don't have one. This camera doesn't have a plug in for a mic. But for Christmas I am getting a new mic. So I can't wait to start making better quality videos later! 😊

Intercultural marriage is like jumping into the hard mode of a game when most married couples around you already find the normal mode hard to deal with. There’s so much extra work to do just like what you said about trying to understand or even accept the culture of your significant other. I’ve been reading a lot of books about marriage and trying to make it work. Thanks for your sharing. I agree with 100% of what you said.

what about the food culture? how are u adjusting to that when u hang out with kurt's friends and if they would go to "dia pai dong' (hong kong style open air food stall) for food? HK ppl also love pig intestines and stuff, have u tried any of those?
@KiekoM11 ай бұрын
Oh yes! I've been avoiding intestines, liver, tongue, kidney etc haha. Kurt loves it and always tells me to try some but I find it hard to eat. The only thing I've ever tried is chicken feet once 😂. I wonder if I'll ever try the rest 🤔. If I do I'll make a video!

I am sorry if this offends you but this bascally also what I am going through as I would like to start an intercaltural relationship. But what i felt from your video is tthat here are only cons but no pros of an intercultural marriage while the only pros probly just knowing more about another culture. It seems that you guys really made lots of efforts to sort this out. I am wondering if you guys have ever thought about giving up like break up. I think both of you are really brave and willing to settle for each other is so wholesome. But if you ever have felt this so tiring or just a moment that you dont think this relationship is not gonna work. like what made you guys get married to each other even with so much differences between you.
@KiekoM11 ай бұрын
Yes I realised there were more cons when making this video. I think there are a lot of things that make us stay together. We have our differences but we love each other, we always find a way to resolve our problems without thinking to leave, we know our intentions. For example, Kurt will never try to hurt me intentionally. We just need time and patience. I think we both know that we can overcome these issues eventually. And my arguments with him are far less than in my previous relationships. And those people spoke English fluently and were completely westernised 😂. Besides the culture and language issues there's a lot of happiness in this marriage 😊. I hope it can be the same in your relationship!
