As someone who has a weak one-handed backhand your comment surprised me with its accuracy. A lot of it is that I don't have the confidence to hit topspin a lot and also I play doubles so I don't use it as much. Still, other players hit serves consistently to my backhand forcing me to slice cross court or lob so their net player doesn't poach my weak shot.

Why feel bad? It's a legitimate strategy. Anyone who doesn't properly plan to negate the initiative battle plans of their opponents by thinking out of the box. Isn't someone I'd like to learn from. I am only a veiwer and have no understanding of starcraft builds but is it possible to proxy buildings later on in the game for memes? Like after 2 gate/racks, put some production across map with some aggressive batteries/bunkers?

The power of the proxy is significantly reducing travel time so that your units can hit much earlier than your opponent is expecting. If you build production across the map later in the game and when your opponent is setup, they will easily be able to counter and destroy it, wasting minerals and production. Batteries and Bunkers are great until your opponent has 9 tanks.
