It could be but one of the big issues with these PS3’s are reliability as well, definitely worth thinking about as PS2 is very reliable for the future. Also 4k morph upscale is coming soon so could get even better.

Great comparison! Retrogem looks slightly sharper, but I prefer the darker color pallete of ps3.

​@@ChickenPopGames I got a retrogem kit for ps2 fat still not soldered :) I think ps2 (specially the slim model) is more reliable than ps3 (backward compatible models) so I'd defiantly choose ps2 for reliability and original hardware, the only reason i didnt get the slim, because i was lucky enough to find a nos ps2

You probably shouldn't have used the smoothing filter on the PS2 as it just adds extra blur to the entire screen while the PS3 smoothing filter only smoothes over aliasing while not reducing sharpness at all (and on partial emulation consoles like yours it makes the image sharper for some reason).

Better to play PS1 games on PS2 as it only uses partial hardware emulation while PS3 uses full software emulation as well as a forced billinear filter that cant be disabled (also no way to add scanlines)

I like the Retro Gem personally from your comparison, you got any details on it never seen it before? What’s you opinion on these retro USB sticks that plug in your TV that come pre loaded with 1000s of games how do they stack up? They keep tempting me on Facebook 😂

I have done the retro gem review already which is on the channel and in the description of this channel. It’s a HDMI Modification to the PS2 which requires soldering to the board. Ile try pick one of those sticks up soon and do a review on it. 🙏👍

You can get wireless controller adaptors for the PS2 like the Brook, 8bitdo and Blueretro adaptors
