in order to justify the high game prices, they would have to produce a new data medium for the games, perhaps small nvme memory cards with the games on them. so that it doesn't always take so damn long until you can play a game

Disc versions have 1.0 released versions of games. As soon as you insert it it begins to download the new update along with the whole game. The only benefit is resale of used games. That’s it.

Just the update downloads. The disc copy’s over the entire data; not download. Digital will be hell when big budget games start coming out eg. GTA 6. Servers will crash and be slow asf

Normally you would just buy the cd and pop in it and start playing. Now when you buy the disc you have to still download it which might take 5 hours depending on the game ( modern warfare 2) and even with all of that you can’t play the game without the disc even though it took forever to download smh
