Imagine a freshly widowed single mother, recuperating from witnessing her husband getting headshot dead with a rifle from feet away, telling her traumatized young son that "your dad got shot and btw there's this dude creeping around, ambushing us to try to shoot photos of us with this camera with a crazy as shit-bright flash". Thats some "safe space" for you, as the kids would call it

There's a great event that happened in 1960s Hollywood. The paparazzi were harassing actress Anita Ekberg at home, she ordered them to leave, they didn't. She then came out with a bow and arrow and gave them one last chance.... Apparently two were hit, and it resulted in a great picture of the actress aiming right into the lens of the camera.

I don’t care about celebrities. I don’t care about what they’re doing. I have no sympathy for them either, they wanted the life they got … but it is clearly stalking. If someone followed you with intent do something, assault of some kind is pretty much illegal. This is the same but you take the R word out of it and you put getting a photo to sell. It should be illegal but like I said they all wanted to be famous public figures so they need to deal with the consequences. Every kid wants to be famous now it’s influencer, I have no interest. I think fame looks dull, boring and seedy. Have to hide half the time. Pay someone to be with you 24/7 because you can’t go to the store. It’s the dark side to American culture. They can have it

People don't always desire to be famous they either are chasing money or they have great talent and end up becoming a celebrity they shouldn't then have to deal with the consequences as if they done something wrong. The people are clearly the problem

@@jordanhtiffirg1990 to a point but again they chose to be public figures. They could retire and get a job at McDonald’s like the rest or even just be more like Keanu reeves (he seems to have figured it out) but they chase that life, they continue to pursue it and they’re paid extremely well for it. They’re held to the same level we use to hold intellectuals and royalty for singing and acting. Would 90% of them pursued that path if fame and fortune wasn’t at the end of it? Probably not
@jordanhtiffirg1990

@@bclr6843 again the people should be held accountable for mistreating celebrities not the victims. Why would you someone making a great living doing something they love work for mcdonalds. Sounds to me that you think they deserve the harrasment and should be punisihed for being successful.
@bclr6843
@bclr6843 14 күн бұрын
@@jordanhtiffirg1990 no I’m just saying they’re getting paid for that part of it. There’s a lot harder work, for a lot less pay then acting or singing. But because of that harassment and life changing attention, that’s where they earn the money. They get everything they ever wanted and then just complain about the part of it they don’t like it’s silly. For all the people right now that are trying to become famous are the same. When your a public figure you can’t pick and choose when you want the attention only how you react to it. You can go Sean penn or Keanu…. That’s up to them but when they get attention and the kind of attention they get, they don’t get to choose. They can move to the middle of nowhere log cabin but they choose to live in Beverly Hills and Manhattan

Nailed it at the end. Valid questions about the morality of his methods aside, Ron's motivation certainly seems to be the art. Where as modern paparazzi are motivated by money and money alone. They just want pics to hock to TMZ, the sun, or whoever will pay them. Same action in a sense, but totally different motivation. And yes, Ron was wealthy, but that was secondary to his art, regardless what you think of it.
