I’m currently the biggest loser in America. After Covid, I lost my business, my fiancé, both my houses, 401k , so I turned to drugs and alcohol that only made things worse and I ended up losing all my friends and a lot of family. I owe the IRS, a shit load of money, and I’m in, an obscene amount of debt. There were plenty of times that I just didn’t wanna wake up. Even with six months of sobriety, I’m still absolutely miserable from the time I wake up to the time I go to bed. And I used to be on top of the world. But the fact of thinking of harming someone else or a group of people because I’m a failure is unimaginable.

This is one of the most dark things you've covered. I was picked on in school so i know how it feels to feel like the world is against you. I'm Christian so even if I wanted to, killing a bunch of people before I go to see God seems to scrape the top of bad ideas. That being said I do know what it's like to be so hurt that I wanted to hurt back. That feeling can grow into something you can't get back if you don't check it. Therapy, exercise, healthy diet and of course God are the recipe to pull yourself out of darkness. Get a white board; make a schedule and goals. See them through. I am no proponent of gun control nor am I a spokesperson for the NRA. Canada has relatively strict gun control but in the last 10 years we have had 2 separate incidents in Ontario where young men have plowed a van into multiple people. One was a racially motivated hate crime against a family but another was indiscriminate by a young man who considered himself an incel. I really don't see the point in outlawing guns for the majority of law abiding US citizens - by that logic, Canada should outlaw vans!

The fact that almost all mass shooters are under the influence of psychiatric medications could be a critical factor in understanding why they commit such awful atrocities. Psychiatric medications, often designed to manage mental health conditions, are mind-altering chemicals that can numb emotions and alter cognitive processes. These medications may suppress empathy and emotional responses, potentially leading to a disconnection from the consequences of violent actions. This emotional blunting, combined with the underlying mental health issues these medications are meant to address, might contribute to the inability to fully grasp the impact of their actions on others. Consequently, the altered mental state induced by these medications could be a significant factor in the occurrence of such violent behaviors, raising important questions about the role of psychiatric treatment in addressing and potentially exacerbating violent tendencies.

You guys are not losers or worthless, you guys are great enough, we live in a society that wants everything accurate and "normal" and follows the trend ,when the reality of this is by far more complicated especially with culture, stress, and money affecting our mental health. I give empathy to those who are ignored becuase they need it the most since those feelings hurt a lot, im also alone so that makes us relatable to us lonely and not popular people. Author will storr has a great book talking about this mostly status where there is a major status change and we all depend on our status to fuel our ego. But like this video was saying its mostly these men who have a higher change of status which causes for many to feel less than to the point of hurting others to make a point. The obsession with becoming famous stems from young people with no status to begin with, want to gain status and do outrageous and dangerous challenges like eating tide pods, cinnamon challenge which can make you choke and make you stop breathing. Its really sad that the young ones dont know how good they have it and that the status is meaningless the true fulfillment comes from within.
