As far as the blind guy not caring about the protagonists race, I've read interpretations that said he was supposed to represent "colorblindness" and how although the blind photographer doesn't care about race, a black man is still directly affected, thus explaining the counterintuitiveness of how colorblindness still affect people of color, regardless of intent

I think the grandpa was running outside on patrol of the area, under the guise of training. When he noticed Chris, the man inside focused in on him maybe seeking help, and grandpa regained control and turned at the last moment. Like when grandma was saying "no no no" and started crying, the woman inside was trying to reach out to Chris.

I'm surprised you guys didn't pick up on the fact that why she insisted the officer see her license so it wouldn't be a paper trail to connect Chris to them
@PsychologyInSeattle7 жыл бұрын
Oh yeah. Didn't think of that.

Psychology in Seattle, only 1% of the population holds the majority of the world's wealth. How can you believe 99% of the population isn't under their hypnosis ?

So as a black person, the friend kind of calling exactly what was happening was actually brilliant to black culture. "We" do that when we watch horror movies A LOT lol.

Two thoughts I had while listening: 1) Whilst not having any proof to the fact nor the contrary, I was of the belief that the police officer towards the beginning of the film had asked for the main characters licence more so because he had some concept of what was occurring in the area they were traveling to and had suspicions about the main female character rather than being extremely racist..and wanted to know the man's name and information in case he were to go missing. 2) In regards to your statements about if hypnotism worked in a certain way, some people would become dictators as they could gather followers...isn't that, to an extent, what Charles Manson did?
@PsychologyInSeattle7 жыл бұрын
1) Interesting. I had thought of that. 2) Charles Manson was a charismatic cult leader. Do you have confirmation that he hypnotized his followers?

Psychology In Seattle in regards to #2 - perhaps it's more of how it's portrayed by the media but it seemed that through the use of drugs, artificial freedom of oppression and consequence and the implied belief that he was the personification of Jesus Christ that he managed to manipulate his followers through a sense of mental manipulation and potential hypnotism. Perhaps coining the results as being a result of direct hypnotism isn't accurate; however, there is some implication that it existed to an extent.

Yes. Hypnotism is very different than brainwashing or indoctrination or fear-based influence.

Very well. I apologize for the confusion and ignorant statements.

Oh my god, no need to apologize. I apologize if I made it seem like you needed to apologize. Your questions were excellent and understandable.

I have a friend from college that was invited on stage for a hypnotist entertainer, and to this day she still can't help but smile when she hears the words "China 6." 1) Is that for real? 2) Are some _willing_ subjects immune to hypnosis? 3) If so, is that due to trust issues, a fear of losing control, or...?
@PsychologyInSeattle7 жыл бұрын
Good question. That sort of hypnotism as "real" as people want it to be.

They used lacrosse as white culture, but it was actually appropriated from Iroquois aboriginals. Very Island of Doctor Moreau.
