On the topic of language preservation, I’ve been trying to read fiction/non fiction books written in Somali. I started off with smaller children books that also have English. I thought I knew how to read in Somali, but reading it in novel form is whole different story, it put me to shame lol. In sha Allah my goal is to be able to proficiently read, Somali novels, articles, newspapers etc, and more than my mom’s text messages.

of course it was easier for people to be polymaths back in ancient times because they didn't have as much knowledge as we do today. for example a doctor back then would probably learn about anatomy and the four humours and that would be the extent of their knowledge whereas a doctor today would have to learn about every organ and their function on a cellular level, every biological processes, every medication we have today and their contraindications etc. It would be incredibly hard for a medical doctor to also be a mathematician/engineer/philosopher/Bio-chemist because of the amount of knowledge that they would have to learn.

With all due respect mixed lectures at university or mixed spaces at work are necessary so there aren’t haram. Aisha RA use to teach young boys Islamic lessons behind a curtain, to avoid free mixing. Events like this are not from Islam.

Those so-called Muslim "dating" apps can be dangerous. I'm from the old school, and I believe in being organic. I also have a problem with the term, dating, because that language can lead one into doing haram things. There should be a halal young adult committee, that will engage Muslims to properly get to know each other, with supervision.

So someone comes up with an app to help muslims get married and we still find a reason to criticize it…😅 I have always been super strict about haram/halal cultural concept of things and here I am single 😂😂😂 ladies loosen up a bit within reason😅
