I always love those little touches of awkwardness in Vincent's performance as Fisk; something about his body language, like when he's thinking of what to say for his monologue at the beginning and right down to his fighting style, makes him almost seem like a little kid trying to present himself as an adult. It's a constant reminder of the character's own childhood trauma and Vincent's performance is elevated even further as a result.

I read people saying his acting is bad here but u just said what I wanted to say. A lot of times Fisk character is pretending, throughout all the series there are scenes were he is not completely him and he is just saying the words he needs to say. Because when he is him itself, he is just a very traumatized child who grew up getting so much power and influence.

I love how Fisk isn't the slightest bit disturbed at the impromptu hand-to-hand with a man he just saw kill 15 men unarmed. D'Onofrio carried the Kingpin over PERFECTLY. Made for this role. One of the things I like about the character that is Kingpin. He is as self-assured as he is self-indulgent. He monologues because he knows he can, and he enjoys it. For him, it's also a power move. To show he doesn't care if you know or not- it's a means of him asserting himself. Only people in complete control can afford to monologue like that- anyone else has liabilities to exploit from it. And he does like his theatrics, when it suits him.

Joash Mathew he never tried to recruit Castle though. Fisk, being the observant man that he is, could tell that Castle would never directly assist him. Instead Fisk merely set him loose, so that Castle’s rampage over his enemies would create a power vacuum for Fisk to fill after he eventually gets out of prison. On the other hand, Poindexter was a mentally ill murderer who legitimately enjoyed killing people, not just because he believed in harsh justice.
