BLTV documents the crazy life & career of the infamous street brawler turned boxer, James Butler Jr - aka The Harlem Hammer

How did he not get life in prison? the fact Max was able to move past this and continue a career in the Boxing industry makes him a stronger and better man than I would have been. RIP Sam Kellerman, guilty only of giving someone undeserving a second chance.

plea deal probably. its why it was a sentencing for voluntary manslaughter and not outright murder
@TheHuskyK96 ай бұрын
He accepted the plea deal for voluntary manslaughter and arson, which still confuses me to this day. Voluntary manslaughter, by definition, is saying that he intended to harm the victim, but not to kill. 30+ blows to the head with a hammer and burning down the apartment is NOT intending to kill someone? Butler's defense lawyer must've been top-tier because the only way I can see how they convinced the judge for a plea deal was to tell them that Butler and Sam were close friends and only did what he did because Butler was having issue with his girlfriend at the same time. And apparently that worked. Anyways, voluntary manslaughter in New York is 5-25 years, and arson depends on if it's a misdemeanor or felony when charged (misdemeanor = 1 year, class-A felony = 15 years to life, class-B = 5-25 years, class-C = 1-15 years, etc). So it sounds like he got the maximum for the voluntary manslaughter but probably 4 years for class-C felony arson, which adds up to 29 years. He'll be out in 2033 at the age of 61

One of the most evil things one can do is betray someone trying to help you. It's why Judas Iscariot is one of the most reviled figures in history and what James Butler did to Sam Kellerman is certainly warrants his place in hell alongside him.

The problem with Kellerman is that he has moved on to other sports where he knows nothing. He was right up there with Rob Parker in 2015, saying Brady was washed up, and the man went on to win 3 more Superbowls.
