I feel like Frank Grillo’s character added an emotional core to this movie that was absent in the other two films. He’s a guy who has been seriously fucked over by the system and wants justice but instead of killing the person who wronged him he ends up saving innocent people and in the end has the chance to kill the guy but spares him because he has been changed by what he goes through in the film. And I love how that scene is shot, he goes in to kill him and it cuts to him leaving without showing whether he did it or not, and then the guy ends up saving him. I know I’m totally over-analyzing the film but i thought that aspect of it was powerful.

That’s why this is my favorite purge movie. It dives into the aspects that actually make sense; buying/selling people, taking revenge on an enemy, etc. As well as creates a cast of actual relatable characters, who show the true horrors of the event aside from just killing like the other three.

Purge anarchy could’ve honestly saved a franchise that started poorly. The whole concept of individual strangers with vague but implied backstories crossing paths one night and having to survive together and going through a life changing character arc was a really smart decision from a storytelling standpoint. Third one felt like such a fuckin copy paste formula wise of this one and then I didn’t even bother with First Purge or goddamn forever (forgettable) purge. Shit went downhill ig.

If there were no government you could do what you like without someone telling you otherwise, we obviously need a community to survive though, as long as people work together in getting what we need, and making sure everyone is happy, no one will be sad therefore no crime and no criminals, no war, an so on and no one trying to take all your money (the government). Anarchy wouldn't be so terrible, and I think everyone would be better off, it can't be any worse the the NSA watching over everything you do making sure you're in-line like all the other 7 billion slaves on the planet.
