I LOVED this video so much, it was so fun going through your collection with you and seeing what you are getting rid of. You did awesome, what a nice pile of stuff you purged! Now you can move all the stuff from the desk drawer into that cute little acrylic container. I totally need to get myself a Bite lipstick. I look forward to your other purge videos! Oh, and I would totally love to see a video on your SN lip collection, since I am so obsessed with their lip products :)

The minute NYX were officially a L'oreal company, I took every single NYX item out of my collection and sold most of them off. Then I bought a TON of new CF goodies. I think your purge makes perfect sense if you want your collection to be 100% CF. It would also be perfectly alright to use them up, but we all know that can be unrealistic.

I'm trying to start a makeup collection but just don't have the money to spend on any. I love makeup since I was a Lil diva lol but I just can't afford to buy much at all & I see alot of woman on here that have tons & some just throw them away like in perfectly good condition maybe it's not their shade or just don't want it....so I'm asking if there's anything you don't want or need I would love to have them & put them to good use. That's if you are looking to get rid of some.

I don't know about the new products and whatnot but all I know is all the NYX glosses and lipsticks and matte creams and stuff that I own all have a cruelty free symbol on it. If you like the colors and formula no need to gt rid of them. Even the stuff I got recently (stuff that has be tried and true not like the newest collection) all are cruelty free. For me it doesn't matter what L'oreal does or if they are bought out by L'oreal...I just won't buy L'oreal stuff thats all. Doesn't mean that NYX is bad or anything. If the cruelty free symbols stops showing up on NYX products then maybe I will stop using them in the future but still keep the current stuff I have cuz there is nothing wrong with them (not tested on animals). Just like there are tons of brands out there owned by the same company but one brand is low end and the other high end and not necessarily both brands are good.
@SamanthaVictoria66110 жыл бұрын
I feel the same way. But I believe she is against 3rd party testing too. So if you think about it... Yes nyx still is cruelty free, however Loreal who is not CF is getting your money. That's how I look at it. I am also against third party testing. But... I spent so much freaking money on all my nyx lip products, that I could not throw them away, I just refuse to buy anything else from them. Same goes for Urban Decay since loreal owns them now, I don't want loreal getting my money. You know what I mean?
@Lisa_L10 жыл бұрын
I've also been struggling with the 'parent company' dilemma. I understand not wanting to support a company like NYX any longer because they are now owned by Loreal, however, NYX themselves still maintain their cruelty free status. Lately, I've been wondering if still supporting companies like NYX would have more of an impact. It all comes down to money with these folks so if they see a trend of people buying more cruelty free brands over the the main parent company brand, perhaps other companies would change their views and policies. Who knows how long that would take, but it's a start. Yes, Loreal reaps the benefit as well, but they must notice the publics growing interest in cruelty free brands. My hope is that the movement will grow stronger in the near future.
@SamanthaVictoria66110 жыл бұрын
Lisa L I do hope so too. I love nyx so much, never bought anything from them I didn't like. But I just can't part from anything I already own. I remember a few years back and email I got from Loreal about them 'transitioning' into being cruelty free. I can't remember exactly what they said but all I said was I will no longer purchase your products. And I will encourage friends and family to do the same. They replied with something like I understand, however we are trying to transition into being 100% cruelty free and some products even Vegan in 2015.... Well 2015 is just around the corner and I see no progress. I never liked there products even before I went CF, but even if they did (good for them) but it would probably still be crap. Haha

TheGLOSSette Hi love! So I had a bad experience with nyx, after selling to loreal I tried to ask via email if they will remain cruelty free and never got a response. So I took to their facebook page and rather than responding to us concerned customers they just kept deleting our comments including mine. So I like to support completly cruelty free including parent company. I for sure don't like to support companies like nyx who don't care about their consumers. I did really love their stuff though, so I am using up some items that are close to the end :) Thanks for th comment
@TheBubbleGumPrincess10 жыл бұрын
Lisa L I totally understand Lisa! It is a personal choice so what ever you choose is the best for you :) For me personally I choose to support only 100% cruelty free companies, so that way I know for example like loreal isn't getting a cent from me and I am not supporting any kind of animal testing. Make sense? Plus I had a bad experience with nyx, after selling to loreal I tried to ask via email if they will remain cruelty free and never got a response. So I took to their facebook page and rather than responding to us concerned customers they just kept deleting our comments including mine. So I like to support completly cruelty free including parent company. I for sure don't like to support companies like nyx who don't care about their consumers.

@Kabberri10 жыл бұрын
Yeah, they^ are right. Because if you buy into the brand then the money still goes to the parent company. PETA isn't a reliable source for cruelty-free status :(

Katrina A i dont think its right for you to judge people if they still buy from a company if it parent company isnt cruelty free.
@coffeeandcurls201210 жыл бұрын
It all depends on how you see cruelty free and if you choose to support a company even if their parent company isn't cruelty free. Some people feel that if you only buy from the cruelty free brands that the parent company owns that it sends a message. Weither or not someone chooses to support nyx it does help fight animal cruelty in some way.

The fact that L'Oreal bought NYX doesn't affect NYX's company doing at all. They stayed cruelty free, so you just gave out all your stuff for no reason. L'Oreal bought out Urban Decay and they are still cruelty free. That's why they are not in the market in China, since the country requires animal testing.
@lalam387710 жыл бұрын
Yes, but whatever revenue Urban Decay or NYX brings in it goes straight to a cruelty company (Loreal). The point of not supporting animal testing is by not giving them our money in hopes that one day they'll stop.
@coffeeandcurls201210 жыл бұрын

I live the idea of a purge, because I went through a huge one myself before I went on some good recent hauls. Also, I usually love your videos. However, I'm really wondering about your logic in this one. NYX is a cruelty free brand. No, L'Oreal the parent brand isn't. But your mention of your concern with selling out makes me wonder why you kept a MAC product. MAC is no longer considered "cruelty free" because they "sold out" to be able to distribute to China; China's regulations enforce animal testing on cosmetics. I buy MAC still, because they don't enforce it, and it's a third party contract that takes care of it. Would I rather they 100% hold on to their scruples and say, "Forget the Chinese market"? Yes. But, the brand itself doesn't stand for animal cruelty (just a market they needed to enter for competitive purposes which, as a student of marketing, I understand), so I do still have some respect for it and the products. Also, if we're bringing up questionable brands, you held on to a lot of LimeCrime. I was so intent on getting some of those velvetines, but I did my research on the brand. There are opinions running rampant regarding the stance they've taken on race since their China Doll line and their inappropriate images for their advertisements. You bought from and just largely endorsed (by keeping and arguing for) a brand that completely insulted a huge group of people, a brand that ran advertisements promoting the idea already unfortunately common attitude that all Asians are the same, with no regard for the diversity not only between nations, but between subpopulations. Read up on that fiasco! As a Caucasian, even I was insulted.
@CobraDove11119 жыл бұрын
yeah, keep telling yourself that as they force feed Mac products to rabbits until they die....you buying those products keep that practice alive *slow clap*
@sweater01159 жыл бұрын
***** I hate to break it to you, but buying NYX is supporting such behaviour. L'Oreal is not CF, and buying NYX is, at the end of the day, pushing profits into the hands of a brand directly responsible for animal testing, i.e. that shoving of products down an animal's throat.
@CobraDove11119 жыл бұрын

I know you're only using cruelty free products, but why throw out good products just because the company isn't cruelty free anymore? You've already paid for it, the money already went toward the company at that time. Using it is not hurting anything if the damage is already done.

I also had a bad experience with nyx, after selling to loreal I tried to ask via email if they will remain cruelty free and never got a response. So I took to their facebook page and rather than responding to us concerned customers they just kept deleting our comments including mine. So I for sure don't like to support companies like nyx who don't care about their consumers. I

She seems to have strong feelings about cruelty but I guess she doesn't feel strong about waiting money. Does she not have strong feeling about people suffering in poverty. If she already paid for it she should use it I'm glad she has strong belief but let's not be ridiculous.

Ana GR HI! I do care about many other things other than animal cruelty free, but for me something as silly and minor as makeup I don't feel the need to support these companies or use their products. The products aren't being thrown away and will be donated or given to friends and family. I also had a bad experience with nyx, after selling to loreal I tried to ask via email if they will remain cruelty free and never got a response. So I took to their facebook page and rather than responding to us concerned customers they just kept deleting our comments including mine. So I like to support completly cruelty free including parent company. I for sure don't like to support companies like nyx who don't care about their consumers.

She isn't just throwing the products in to the trash. If you listened to her video, she said that she would be giving the products to friends and family.

Going cruelty free is great, but you mention it in every single video and make it such an important point that it becomes annoying. Yes you are going cruelty free, we get it.

99melody99 That is not my intent to cram it down your throats. I actually try not to be preachy about it at all. But I mention it incase anyone doesn't know and just thinks I tossing stuff for no reason. Thank you for the comment though and I really hope you know I am not trying to upset or annoy
