Very good project, thank you for sharing your methods. I don't understand, if the mushroom fully digests the textile fibers, wouldn't the added strength disappear? Would it not be desirable to have the fibers mechanically locked, instead of chemically dissolved?

In the end, it does not digest it fully, this process is much longer!
