Nepal currently has three international airports, with Tribhuvan Airport operating profitably while Pokhara and Gautam Buddha International Airports are facing financial challenges. The Government of Nepal believes that involving private companies in the operation of these airports could provide much-needed relief. The problem with we "Nepali" in general is we are too phobic to indian influence, Frankly Nepal is not of any interest to either india or china, what do you nepal has to offer india? few Mega watt of water? or natural resources ? But the thing is the hatred for Indians is deeply ingrained in Nepali's minds, so, they can't comprehend that being on India's side is better than being on China's side. The hatred is taught from childhood, so, its hard to get rid of it. And the evidence can be seen on the internet's comments too, where they constantly call Indians "dhoti" while not realising that Nepal needs India if shit goes South. Now that the USA is also dipping its toes in Nepal using huge donations(essentially buying the leaders indirectly), it is better to be with India rather than China, due to the reasons you stated, as well as, culturally, we are similar to India than we are to China.

From the comments, I understand that Nepali people are nervous about Indian investment in Nepal. From an Indian perspective, this is perplexing because India is civilizationaly the closest to Nepal. Nepali products hold sentimental value in India, Nepali temples hold religious value in India Indian's will die defending Nepal if it comes to that, I have no question about that. From India, Nepal is India's responsibility. So Indian investment will never be used against Nepal, unless Nepal lets China weaponize some its Infrastructure Why the nervousness?

The concept of loans baffles me. Loaners entice people with low-interest rates as if the loanee will be able to pay it off even in installments that easily, and they just take it. Forget using the loans as investments for money-making situations for the situation. Both those giving and taking these loans in international aspect are quite stupid, the repercussions of something wrong happening in this deal are unamendable. Donation po ho len-den ma ekdam reliable hune, no strings attached with that.

This investment can break the cartel of airport industry of nepal as they control tickets prices Indian domestic planes might get direct flights from nepal to india and domestic flights as well. Which reduce price of ticket and if adani take control, the loan of pokhara and Gautam buddha airport will be paid by adani as Indian doesn't want Chinese influence in nepal. And nepali security system is so weak, import of illegal Indian currency and terrorism and gold (which is further smuggle in india) will be controlled. Overrall this is win win situation. What if prices of tickets raises people who can travel in plane can compensate extra 2 3 k on domestic and 10 to 15k in international flights but the customer will get high security and properly maintained and managed services.

Yes, it is clear that adani and BJP has close ties. Isn't that, in a way, beneficial to Nepal? Adani can help secure the permission required to use the landing equipment in Gautam Buddha Intl Airport from INDIA and also get the access to various new and helpful entry points for both loss facing new airports? Maybe this FDI wont lead Nepal to a debt trap. We should consider the good side too. I also completely agree that Nepal Govt must find a way to see the betterment of customers and protecting Nepal's confidentiality and even regarding the payment of loan prior to involving adani. Overall a neck to neck deal between adani and Nepal govt. regarding airports could be beneficial as the way I see is, it is high time to operate the new airports to their full potential. Majorly because the new business in these cities have been dying. Also, decentralisation would help boom different places in Nepal and definitely help the falling economy to rise.
