This short clip hits differently when I remember how my parents convinced me so hard not to pursue my dream to be a lawyer. They even go as far as cutting financial support just so I will realize how difficult life would be for me if I choose to study over getting a job. It turns out, I don't need to choose. I can pursue my dream and I can work to support myself financially. Yes, it's hard but I am happy.

I get you girl.. same happened with me 9 years ago when I succeeded in the nurse department of university and my relatives didn’t like it.. I tried all alone to graduate this school and I did it in 4 years.. It was truly hard, but I made it all alone. Now here I am, working as an ICU nurse in the best hospital of my country, and living with my fiancé. “YOU GOT A DREAM, YOU GOTTA PROTECT IT” You can do everything, always remember that, and one day you will be an amazing lawyer. I was so upset when he told his son to give up. Then there was that beat with Chris standing there thinking about what he just said and how he screwed up. And then he turns to his son and tells him exactly the right thing and my heart got warm. It's so hard to admit you messed up and acted out from pain and cynicism, and it's probably a lot harder for a parent. But in the end he overcame the resistance to hold on to his mistake quietly and let it fester in his son, and instead decided to man up, admit he was wrong, and tell his boy that his life is his own. I wanted to hug them both after that moment I was so proud.

Same man, there are tons of people who get cringed by someone being motivated or someone trying to motivate them. The whole reason for this is that they just assume that the other person won't be able to make it, consciously/subconsciously. If you feel the same way then you should probably put some focus on the perspective of your life. I mean, if you think this way..... then what do you actually not cringe at? Someone feeling demotivated and depressed as fuck? Mostly people behave this way when they haven't had a phase where they felt demotivated or depressed. A sad phase in life is sometimes very important.

A lot of parents don't even notice moments like this. Not don't care - don't _notice._ They don't notice the moments where they deeply hurt their child. And even when they do notice, they tend to think it's no big deal, they'll get over it, they won't even remember it the next day. So they don't even properly apologize, let alone try to make amends. I really appreciate parents who notice when they've hurt their child and take the time to fix it.

Hey whoever you are. I’m glad to hear this video helped you out of a dark place for atleast some time, but I know that those good feelings come and go. If you’re not doing so already, please seek help if you can. I truly believe that whatever situation you’re in, there is a future where you are living a good life and this mental state you’re in right now is behind you. Everyone fucks up or goes down the wrong path for atleast some time, or they were forced down that path by circumstances out of their control, but everyone can start going down the right path again. there are people who care about you in this world and they want you to be happy, even random strangers on KZbin. Just try to remember that whenever your mind starts fucking with you because all those negative thoughts are bullshit. We’re here. We’re alive. We may be asleep but there’s a whole world full of beautiful things and people and we just have to wake up and see it for ourselves. Maybe you’ve heard everything I’m telling you a hundred times but often the most cliche truths in life are the most important to remember. I hope there are people in your life you can talk to about whatever you’re going through, but if you don’t then feel free to reply in this thread. I don’t care if you write a whole book in this comment section I will read it, and so will a bunch of other people watching this video. But if you can, please find a therapist or someone you can talk to in person.

My parents told me that whatever I wanted in life to first find out the price, what it would cost, and then if I paid the price I could be whoever I wanted to be! At age 19, two (2) lawyers taught me the ad copy writing and marketing business! I decided to do that also!
