Malaskas idea of aligning the visual with reality was my favorite video you ever did. Very eye opening

Bryson talks about pacing off puts which has helped me a lot. As golfers we always want to know distances except when we're on the putting green.

I keep it simple. I figured out what Mike was saying about 2 months before that video. I just happened to notice it playing one day that my intermediate target didn't look right. After reading Dave Stocktons book Unconscious Putting i completely blew up my routine altogether. He advocates for getting to a place where mechanics don't really matter and it's all about the line. That resonated with me and ever since I make a lot of putts and I hardly work on it. You're stroke is like signing your name. It's already in there you just have to let it out.

Question about your armlock putter. I notice the grip makes the putter more vertical and not as much forward press. Does your putter have a different loft than the standard 3-4 degrees? Thanks

This grip has a bump at the top which makes it so that you can armlock it without forward pressing too much. My putter head is 3 degrees

@@BEBETTERGOLF I was looking at USGA rules on putter grips. Doesn't this bump make the grip non-conforming???

This is why golf improvement is so hard - Bruce Rearick talks at length about the importance of hitting the sweet spot, whereas Biomechanics professor Dr. Sasho Mackenzie thinks that, after testing in his lab, that within the normal limits of human variance, that it has no significant effect on the outcome of putts. Same with path. I'm inclined to agree with him - nowadays, putters all have very generous MOI, and it's not like putts are super high-energy collisions with gearing, etc, like a driver. Amateurs (me included) have far more serious problems with speed control. Go to a local muni course on the weekend and watch random people regularly smoke putts 10 feet past the hole! ;)

I find most people aren't aimed where they think they are. When I ask someone to smash one ball into another on the putting green they miss the first 5 tries or so. Smashing one ball into another is my putting warm up. I don't worry much about speed because the putting green and golf course's greens are almost never the same. Also, I can't play or putt wearing glasses. I can't find a pair without some distortion and that distortion moves the hole, up, down, high or low and THAT'S NOT WHERE THEY HOLE REALLY IS!

Great point. There is too much bag is associated with hitting a ball to a hole and it’s not good to see you missed a bunch of times so putting to another ball. Sounds like a really smart idea.

@@BEBETTERGOLF It's crazy how good you can get in about 10 or 15 minutes. You can hit another ball that's 10 to 20 feet away pretty easily.
