Atem's cameo in Dark Side of Dimensions is literally perfect, something about him swooping in right after Yugi declared in his most dire moment that he “still believes in the heart of the cards”’ I cried and I'm not even ashamed to admit it. Just hit me right in the feels.

"Yugi declared in his most dire moment that he “still believes in the heart of the cards”" That was English dub dialogue. In the original Japanese, Kaiba told Yugi to call Atem so he can beat Dark Aigami. Yugi with his new independence that he's had for 6 months refused to call Atem then as he collapsed, he said "Sorry, everyone" and then Atem, the hero of the series, appears and defeats Dark Aigami. Yugi would rather the world/dimensions be destroyed than to call Atem. So many people do not notice the "poison" that Yugi has. This is Kaiba's movie and even Kaiba with his pride knew that Atem, the hero, was needed to defeat Aigami. That says a lot about Yugi, who is not the hero of the story.

I wish Mai was a part of the last season. She was honestly perhaps one of if not the most real, layered and believable character in the original series. The final season should have given her a redemption arc and proper send-off. I mean complete filler characters like Vivian, Rebecca, Leon and Siegfried get not one but multiple duels in the final season but Mai doesn’t even get a cameo? The filler tournament should have been a final between Mai and Joey ending up in a tie or something of the sort. With Kaiba going on to focus on the development of the game and leaving behind his competitive days and Yugi retiring from Duel Monsters and going on to create new games of his own, this would have been a passing of the torch moment for Mai and Joey, signifying that they would one day soon become the two best duelists in the world.

I'm 32 years old still collecting the cards. At first I wasn't allowed to collect the cards or watch the show due to religion and living in a church bound house hold. Later moving in with my mom, I slowly build my collection and in the last 10 years, build a massive collection. If I can relate to the series, both Yu-Gi, atem, and the show, made me the person I am. Even the 5ds version and it's hero yusei fudo made me what I am today. When the creator died, part of me died because I believe Yu-Gi-Oh in general saved my life, could of been in or out of jail, could of been dead. When I dealt with break ups from exes, I always jumped back to what made me happy, and it was Yu-Gi-Oh. My goal is to get Kazuki Takahashi nominated into the Toy Hall of Fame at the strong museum. Tried last year and didn't work. I will try again but need help getting people to join the movement.

I loved hearing teh excitment in your voice. This series is one of the very few I feel like have pulled off such a definite ending to a series that's so good. I loved the special movie just for the fun of it, but the other one is one I haven't seen and probably should now. The card game was so much fun too and as much as I love Yusei, Yugi is always gonna be it for me.

Unfortunately having to spend Christmas isolated from family due to being really sick, but this series has made it much better to relive a part of my childhood. Merry Christmas Jordan

I really love Yu-Gi-Oh! and this series really feels like a warm hug in the heart after growing along with the whole franchise and the passing of mr. Takahashi, he really is a hero.

Merry Christmas Fringe. Yu-Gi-Oh! has been a staple in my Life for a long time. When I heard about Takahashi's Death, I immediately went back through my memories of when I got my Starter Deck. Hopef to have met him so that he could sign my Duel Art! Book.

I'm still shocked that, with Dark Side of Dimensions, the canonical ending of Yu-Gi-Oh! is essentially Kaiba taking his own life so that he can be reunited with Atem.

My friends and I still joke about Kaiba taking a death elevator to space to play against Atem. Seeing it in theaters was wild

I've been a fan since the first episode I watched. It was during the first virtual world arc that was still being aired that I was introduced to Yugioh and I was immediately hooked from the beginning, so to say I've been a fan for quite some time would be an underestimation. Over 20 years in case anyone reading this is interested. I remember waking up on Saturday for years and tuning in to watch the newest episode or episodes as a kid.

While I've fallen off the card game itself in recent years, (not a fan of how it plays these days), Yugioh has always been a big part of my life and holds a special place in my heart. I have a ton of fond memories of playing it with friends growing up and watching the show. When the finale movie came out in theaters, my best friend and I went out of our way to go see it, and it was a blast and a great sendoff to the original series.
