Hey Roland.. You're in the FX-4CR club too?... cool.. Gigaparts is on back order I think, LOL... I like the stand you have your fx4cr radio on in your shack.. I'm trying to come up with a dual stand that will hold the radio at an angle and also hold the zm2 tuner behind it to keep it all from sliding around.. (if you know what I mean).. I'll make something work but just need to spend some time designing it.. Thanks for stopping by and watching.. I appreciate the comment.. 73, Kevin ~ k0klb

Use a metal extension ladder. Set it on a piece of wood and guy it. A few radials. Makes a nice vertical.
@hamradioqrp-k0klb Жыл бұрын
Hey Philip... Ladders do work well.. I used a 16ft folding aluminum ladder on a POTA activation once because it was too windy for my collapsible whip antenna.. I think it was a 1w activation, but cant remember, LOL.. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment.. 73, Kevin ~ k0klb

Hey Scott...Hahaha.. I haven't done the grain bin yet, but have thought about it often.. Here is the Harvestore Silo video I did a year or so ago.. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pmm7knmZg9CApqc ... it worked pretty well.. How well does the zm2 work for you? Might get one
@hamradioqrp-k0klb Жыл бұрын
Hey Chip.. It works well.. It's only rated up to 15w, so consider that.. Part of the tuning process is to spin the dials until the red LED dims/goes out.. I've only had a few times where I the LED wont go out (is dim), but the radio still see's a 1 or 1.1 SWR so I just roll with it anyway.. I really like its light weight, small size and portable.. It takes some practice to use, but I enjoy it.. Thanks for watching.. 73, Kevin ~ k0klb
