In 1904 an earthquake with a 5.4 magnitude on the Richter scale shook Oslo. Its epicenter was in the Oslo Rift which runs directly through the Norwegian capital. There are recorded quakes from the rift on a daily basis and geologists cannot be sure, but arguments indicate that we can expect major future earthquakes in this area. When - nobody can say for certain - but we know that the density of people and infrastructure in Oslo is significantly more vulnerable today than in 1904.

I see people calling the movie bad, slow and repetitive. I don't think so. For a nordic country, the movie is extremely good and well produced and for a lot of nordic people, seeing their country be the focus of a film like this is extremely fun. When I watched this 2 years ago I was ecstatic to see all the building that I recognized. Plus, a disaster movie nerd will enjoy any disaster movie no matter how slow.

Flashbacks to the earthquake a few years ago we had in Alaska 😑It was a 7.1 that lasted for about 4 1/2 minutes. The aftershocks were terrible and lasted for days. I can't imagine having to experience anything larger, like the 9.2 earthquake Alaska had during 1964.

I’ve watched it. Loved it. Spoiler alert ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ My only disappointment was them killing off the mother in the elevator shaft scene. They did that for shock value which I thought was unnecessary. Only the father and daughter acknowledge she is dead and nothing is said from the son in the final scene. It honestly would have more sense for the father to die trying to save his daughter or not killing off any members of the family at all. Besides that it was a great movie and if they decide to go ahead and also make a third one, I’m interested to see where they go next

Yes, its a sequel. In the end of the wave we were told that they moved to Oslo. He is a geologist, thats probably why he is still relevant for this movie.
