@TheEldoradoKid : This music is from Quebec. The French, Irish and Scots are all descendants of the Celtic. So this type of music came to our North America via all of these peoples. If I missed anything, do let me know.

@lovelyaley That's because the roots of this music was brought over to America from Ireland and Scotland and firmly planted in the Appalachian Mountains about 150 years ago, and has evolved to this fine result!

...But everywhere in Ireland there are different fiddle styles! Plus, I have discovered that, in the early days of recording, Irish fiddlers who'd come to America found that their records were reviving the styles of their home counties which were being lost.

Hey guys, lover your music..... Just want to say though that the 2nd tune is called "Miss Monaghans"....Monaghan being the surname of an irish woman. Its also the name of the county that im from in Ireland> Its an old irish fiddle reel!! great to see it being played across there! love the vocal harmonies when you sing, and as a guitarist myself id love to know how you get those chord shapes in!

Hi Guys, Just Wondering whoever owns this video - could you change the info!! The second tune is "Miss Monaghans Reel" an old Irish tune and the name comes from the County Monaghan where I am from. It is not The Maid behind the Bar as stated here!. Great playing anyway though!! Thanks in advance for changing it :) :) Mick

Dear sisters, friends & co! Did you hear the thump when i fainted and my head hit the floor? The thing is that i´m after your old fashioned street adress, cause i´ve got a parcel for you. As a record collector, i´ve found a bunch of Edison cylinders with Irish and Scottish fiddle tunes, recorded more than one hundred years ago. I´d like to share a copy of them, as we obviusley are into the same stuff! All the very, very best! Greetings from Sweden! Andy

Wow! Gives me chills. There is a pretty strong theory (I'm exploring it in my master's thesis) that Texas fiddle is pure Irish, directly transplanted. I'd love to discuss that! Check out my music videos as well, please.
