The White Star Line built the Titanic. The Cunard Line built the Queen Mary. Essentially, both built the Queen Mary after a merge between the White Star Line and the Cunard Line. Port is left of the ship facing the forward section. And starboard is the right side facing forward. It'd be reversed facing the stern (aft) section of the ship.

When it comes to boats and ships, just remember your left and right. Port has 4 letters, the same as left. Starboard is on the right. Oh, and you may want to reread the ghost sighting of the Elegant Lady. It was the waitress that saw the apparition. The apparition wasn't the waitress.
