I love how she accepts “Um” into her court because she’s different, most of her court “are” people with unique appearances that most would make fun of (Big ears, long noses, ex.) It’s a large difference on who she surrounds herself with compared to her sister. The White Queen surrounding herself with people who are near to perfection, even having to act a certain way around them (ex. When she’s making sure their gone when the dog comes, she runs) THE DETAILS IN THIS MOVIE!!

I don’t think it’s JUST the tarts though. I mean everyone made fun of her because her head is big. And the fact the Hatter family did not take time to properly measure her head so that her crown could fit right did not help matters. And honestly her family should’ve stood up for her when they laughed at her. How hard is it to tell everyone to get out and then calm Horacebeth down? Also, Mad Hatter should’ve muffled his laughter but his father should not have blamed the whole debacle on him. If the father had done his job right in the first place, her parents had been more supportive, and her sister done the right thing, that whole debacle would’ve been avoided. Her parents as the rulers should have been emulating kindness and compassion to ALL, and then maybe the subjects wouldn’t have made fun of her.

i honestly think it goes even further then the tarts AND the coronation incident. Remember that one line in the first move where she tells Mirana "You think you can blink those pretty little eyes, and I'll melt just like Mommy and Daddy did" I think the tarts incident was just one example of how her parents favored Mirana over her. Like you said, her father should have stood up for her and been more supportive. But he choose not to, and I think it's because he WANTED Mirana to have the crown all along. So rather then standing up for her, he pretty much made Iracebeth out to be the bad guy for defending HERSELF and gave the throne to Mirana. I don't know if the mother was in on that plan, but she clearly had no problem with it so she's just as guilty
