i'm old enogh to tell you what happened to 80's Hair metal, 90's Grunge rock and 2000's nu-metal. Original, genre-defining bands have survived, the others have been forgotten. i don't blame the copycat bands but the labels and whole music industry(magazines, media etc). Because they pushed the new bands to do that. It's happening same now.
