This is a really valuable perspective. To take this a bit further, your current version may not be as bad as your worst version, but you will still compare yourself to your best version. This may make you feel like you are so far away from this version, and may never be capable of becoming that version, because the gap is so big. By taking steps towards that version it can give you confidence that you are making progress towards that version and reducing the gap every day.

@@vendogg hello vendogg, I don't think matters will improve by therapy. I'm hitting fifty and I feel this way since the age of six. At six I entered primary school, and because this was in a Catholic college we've also got religious lessons. Here I've learned about the life of Jesus Christ and the way the good man was treated by his equals, the torment and bloodshed, the maliciousness that exists within people. Indeed when examining the world I was living in I could see that these things were happening for real every day all over the globe, these things and even worse , unimaginable cruelty and agony since as long as life existed. This is a game of eating or being eaten, a place where the law of the strongest prevails. Existence isn't meaningless , it is about refined suffering. Horrified by this knowledge I learned to play the game and it looks as if I'm actually good in it but I hate it to the bone. How can someone really experience enjoyment I ask myself when you know all the grief and pain there is ? When I'm start laughing I start to feel guilty.....a pointless agony is likely a better description of life, at least the life of someone with a flilantropic attitude . After all, no good deed rests unpunished. To fully enjoy life one has to be totally unscrupulous, non empathetic and super egoistic of character. For such people life is one big roller coaster of joy, unrestrained pleasure and ecstasy. Never the less also for these kind of people there is no garantee, derailing of the roller coaster is not excluded and it is a certainty that the roller coaster ends up in station terminus to.......because one can only live in the moment, the last conscious moment is determinative to conclude what life is.....all the last moments of other people I've witnessed where full of suffer, pain and grief, therefore life is suffering..... that's why I say " it's better never to have been" I do my time here in this awful prison and hope my punishment will be over once I've completed my sentence.

I do not like how financial success is being set equal with happiness in this video. Imagine a version of that man who plays videogames and eats chocolate bars, but spends time with friends while doing that. Whereas the opposite version reads business books all the time and so becomes boring and socially isolated. I believe the first one might have a little extra weight and not enough money, but still be a very much happier person. Wealth is not necessarily the path to a happy and fulfilled life. Edit: I like most of your videos. However, when you think of a human being "better than yesterday", I think you should consider that reading real literature, watching good movies actively and thinking about them, learning to sing or something similar is more important than being a good businessman. I miss that thought in this video.

1:33, This is because we only see the good side of the successful person, while we only focus on the miserable side of the failed person. Truth is, the failure version probably got much more enjoyment out of life. My best childhood friend for example was a great student, but he never knew how to enjoy life. That's probably why he was successful, he had less distractions to deal with. While I was a complete failure when it comes to education and latter at work, but I had a great time when I was kid, and even better when I was a teenager. But now that we are in our thirties, I am slowly fixing my mistakes, and I am making up for my school failures. My friend meanwhile got his master's degree last year, but he doesn't know where to go from there. He is bored with his life, but isn't willing to take any risks or go on some adventure. I guess he just isn't used to uncertainty. If someone were to analyze the situation now, he is in a much better position. But what no one sees is that he sacrificed his entire youth for a bigger salary, that he doesn't even know what to spend on because he doesn't have any hobbies or interests. He can never be a teenager again, so in my mind that's a pretty big sacrifice. All I am saying here is that difference between success and failure is not as clear cut as we often portray it to be. We just look at someone at a certain point in time, and we determine if he is happy or not.

I used to think like you : the hard workers lose their youth , don't have fun, only have their careers etc. etc. NOOOO ! The fact is that the"being the best version of yourself" is something each person must define for himself. Remember, at ANY point you can change your definition of what that means - you can give up a well- paying job to have a simpler job but with more time and friends . No stage of life is wasted if at that moment you are following your "best person" path.

I used to be the worst version of myself. I watch nonsense videos, play video games, eat junk foods, become lazy to do workout and read nonsense posts from my Facebook feed. But now, I chose to be the best version of my self. I'm always watching self-help books, eat healthy, do daily workouts and learn something valuable on Facebook.

I’m happy I have found this channel, it’s a tremendous help. I would love a video on how not to feel lost and like you’re losing your precious time working a job you don’t really like. Some tips on how to find out what you should pursue in life, as I have a lot of doubts and I’m sure all young generations do nowadays.

Thank you that you don't drag videos 20 minutes long and just saying straight facts.

I stopped watching KZbin and browsing reddit and read for 30 minutes, read exactly 10 pages. That was one choice for today. I'm proud of myself right now.
