to complete your cool tips, the official send2ue blender add-on developed by epic makes it even easier, it's a one click export directly from blender to unreal, with auto renaming, auto face smooth, auto "SM_" renaming ... great tool to use

But what if I want my imported objects to keep their position that was set in Blender? I can't find any way to do that using the send to unreal addon. For example I'm working on a floorplan, and if I want to bring my windows/doors in unreal, I'll have to reposition and place them inside Unreal and it's extremely tedious.

@@HATL201 i made a video how to place all the objects in active level in Unreal and keep object origins from blender and some other settings no one mentions about the S2UE Addon

Seems like they abandonned it because their github project is a 404

An even easier way to bring in updated meshes is just to find the asset in the content browser in unreal, right click it and choose "Reimport from new file." This will update all of the instances of the asset.

Didnt work. All of my images are missing color.

FBX is not the quickest and easiest way. Fbx tends to cause a lot of issues with materials. USD is the easiest and fastest way to get your scenes into unreal.

I heard usd currently causes corruption to project files. Have you faced anything like that while using it?

The issue I got is I’m trying to export auto building assets that are generated with Geometry nodes 😢😢

Hey! This video is great, but i am encountering a problem. In my scene I have instance duplicated a bunch of objects (alt+D). When i imported the scene all of these objects stack on top of each other not giving me the same positions as in the blender scene. Also all my meshes come out as skeletal? Any help would be appreciated

I see you`re an experienced UE5 user. I`ve got a somewhat general question, as I`m total noob in UE5, I followed a big course from Unreal Sensei, specifically aimed for Blender users. I worked on my laptop for a few months, it`s all good, but then I came back to my main PC, transferred my project, loaded it and was surprised my PC can`t handle it at all. My laptop has a bit newer video card but everything else is better on my PC. I`m not sure what to do. Is there something quick I can do in UE settings? But not Nanites or Lumen. Anyway, your advice is appreciated

Well I dont't know the specs of your PC but in my experience a good graphics card in a Laptop is still better than a bad one in a PC. Is it only this specific project or is it a general performance thing?

@@NicoLinde If I start a fresh scene, it`s ok. The project I created during tutorial is not so heavy. just a terrain with a bit of megascanned objects and animated flowers, also megascanned

@@insertanynameyouwant5311 Animated foilage usually takes up a lot of vram. Maybe that's it 🤷♂ But to answer your first question, I don't know of any quick fixes for this issue.

I'm not sure I understand exactly what you mean. Do you want to "reuse" certain objects in another Unreal project?
