It is his intellect growing of course. Skull can't keep his brain from growing, as Dr Mike gets bigger. Jokes aside dude is the man. Quick witted. His interview was amazing. He is the most optimistic man, and everything he said was basically true with some caveats.

He’s openly on the juice for a few years at least now as he wanted to see how far he can go and push his potential after being natural for over 15 years iirc. He’s gone in depth on the trade-offs, like how he has clinical high anxiety now due to it. Look at videos of him 4 years ago, his voice bellows much deeper, and his nose has grown faster than natural aging does. Classic signs of an exogenous cocktail in the mix (not sure if his lips are bigger, but various head features growing be typical on the sauce).

I always hated the idea of going to to the gym. But I was essentially forced to by a doctor. She wanted to put me in blood pressure medication(I measured over 150/90) and told me many problems I was complaining - including joint pain, were related to weak muscles. This was not just the standard 5 minute consultation, it was concierge medicine paid for my company and took hours. I'm like, wtf. If I feel joint pain, you want to load my joints even more? Told my wife about it, she scheduled a session with a trainer and just informed me that I had to go. So I went. First time, at 43. Two weeks in, I started noticing massive drops in my blood pressure that lasted hours after the workout. By the next day, BP would be high again. But the thing is, over time, the lower blood pressure was lasting progressively longer. 4 months in, I'm at the point where I'm almost under the magical 120/80 all the time (diastolic is being a bit stubborn). And the joint pains? Gone. Completely gone. I still have to be careful with impact exercises due to knees and specially feet (plantar fasciitis), but even those have improved. Some exercises that involved the knees that I was dreading to do actually were exactly what was needed. I haven't lost much weight but when we last checked body composition, fat percentage decreased. I had fixed the diet and lost a ton of weight before even touching weights - you can't outrun a bad diet. I did even do some cycling. But turns out you can't avoid the weights if you don't want to have problems. So yeah, I can confirm that you can see results very quickly, more so if you are a noob. I can't wait to check my bloodwork on the next checkup !

Yup, helps with sleep too for the same reason (and additional ones ofcourse). Also I don't want to touch alcohol, that shit just kills your gains. "do I want this glass of vodka cranberry? No, I worked out earlier, I don't want all that effort to be wasted" Fucking LOVE how the effort we put in the gym sort of helps us realise what's important

I recently lost 100lb. It's a long story, but I am what's called a 1.5 type diabetic which requires long and short acting insulin daily. Since I began going to the gym doing a push, leg, pull, cardio, repeat, routine, I've not needed insulin in 6 months. I just got my A1C checked for the first time since the weight loss and am now a 5.7. My doc said that I am officially. 1 away from diabetic and now in the pre diabetic level. My A1C was 14 when originally diagnosed and then maintained at around an 8/9 (not great management on my part) for years. My point is that there is no pill that can replace a healthy diet, weight training, and just minimum cardio. Nothing. All of my numbers are within normal range now. I haven't experienced this since my early 20s (I'm 39). Mike is absolutely correct.

Hell yeah. I did something similar. Was diagnosed Type 2 this January with acute pacreatitis. Did a complete lifestyle change. Gym six times a week and walked 12-15k steps a day. I lost 90 lbs and haven't taken any diabetes medication for 3 months now. I went from 11.8 A1C on 1/4/24 to 5.6 by 4/8/24.

@XxDJ075xX OH wow, that sounds exactly like my story. I had chronic pancreatitus as well. It's what caused my 1.5 diabetes and gasteroperisis. Mine was the result of heavy alcohol abuse for many years. Sober 7 years now. Most painful experiences of my life, pancreatitus. It's very good to meet you, even if it's online. Best of luck to you, and congratulations on making it back.

Bang on: Im 5'8 and last September i was 210 lbs and diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. Spent the winter fixing my diet and getting back on the exercise train that I had fallen off of a few years back and lost 30lbs and I'm now riding my bike 25 miles per day and my blood sugar is back to nromal and other than .y diverticulitis that still can flare up for no reason at all, I have gotten rid of basically all the GI and skin issues i was previously dealing with. Its a pretty significant level of commitment since i had destroyed my metabolism in 2010 by losing 80 lbs in 6 months and it never really came back to normal even though I kept most of that weight off until around 2018, and even then i only ever gained back 40 of the original 80 I had lost, but my metabolism is so efficient at strloting fat now that its insane so i have to stat super conmmitted to my diet and exercise (especially since insuck at managing my stress and my sleep patterns aren't all that great either)

I decided that 2024 was going to be the year I actually started taking care of myself after going through a year long depressive episode from my previous toxic workplace. I signed up to a local gym in March and got hooked up with a physical trainer twice a week, and I have mostly stuck with it aside from a few times when I was unwell or had to visit family. It's August now when I'm writing this. I haven't noticed much of a change just yet, but I do admit that's partially my own fault. I haven't been taking all of the supplements they recommended to me, I hate drinking water, I tend to struggle with coming in to do cardio on off days, and my diet is also a bit of a problem. I have a very toxic way of looking at food since I'm pretty obese, and I got used to seeing food as "the enemy" that I should avoid unless I'm literally on the brink of passing out due to low blood sugar. So it's been a struggle to eat enough, even if it's stuff like fast food, so that I have the energy to kill it in the gym like I need to. That being said, even though I'm not literally Jesus, He Who Lifts™️, I do think I am seeing a change overall. Technically I'm the heaviest I've ever been, but the scale is pretty constant, even though I'm factually getting stronger. I'm even starting to see some stretchmarks in my forearms that I swear weren't there before. Going up the three flights of stairs that it takes to get to my apartment doesn't make me as heavily winded anymore, my range of motion is getting a bit better, and apparently people are telling me my belly is getting smaller, even though I really can't tell the difference myself just yet. I feel like my story is unimpressive, all things considered, but I think it's notable how even doing this much for such an admittedly short length of time is showing itself in small ways. Hopefully in a few years, I'll have a better story to tell, but for now, just know that it's worth it to try. You're probably going to hate the first few months, and you're probably going to feel like you'll never move again thanks to how sore you are afterwards. But if you stick with it, eventually even your most grueling workouts won't feel like you tore every ligament in your body a few days afterwards, and the feeling of success you get from achieving something that felt impossible before is really rewarding. I'm not at the place where I actually ENJOY going to the gym just yet, as I am notoriously introverted and love videogames and little else, but I hope to get there one day.

4months ago I was 330lb now I am 300. It has been a difficult plateau to get over. When you get good at something the weight loss begins to slow down. So a good rule of thumb is if you have been doing the same routine and haven't seen much progress. Switch it up and get better at something. A lot of people get "comfortable" with the amount of effort they see instead of exploring and becoming uncomfortable again to achieve even higher progress. I walked and ran for 2 months and couldn't pass 315 it wasn't until I did way more weight lifting I have achieved 300lb. As long you have a goal to reach towards no matter how unattainable it feels working towards it little by little will give you the results you're looking for. Just keep pushing it.

facts people. If fitness was taken like a official drug based therapy that was prescribed to patients, I think the benefits would be absolutely amazing. Their is so much literature out their on the benefits of cardio and resistance training, ranging from the prevention of osteoporosis of the bones (from aging or accidents) to better vo2 max, lower blood pressure, better heart health, lung health, etc. One of the number one killers in America is lack of fitness and obesity. Physical activity is literally the one thing the body is actually designed for. to imagine that the difference between being physically active versus not is like night and day is not crazy to think. the average person has a warped sense of what healthy means. too much input from various sources that are not realiable. physical activity in any way shape or form is the most potent way to prevent deseases that relates to physical health.

💯 %! But I did 5 days per week + via upper half one day lower half next day then day off. And it is 30 minutes bike ride to get to the gym. After drpping 50 lbs I also FEEL like I lost 30 years. Im 62, feeling like 30s. Stronger than ever before with a 6-pack I never had before. I credit the gym, diet, and the bike, in that order. I always superset my workout to keep the heart rate up as well. I started @ 248 lbs when I was looking for 40" waist shorts, up from 38. I got pissed, put the shorts back and decided right then to get back down to 35" and 195 to 200 lbs. Signed up at the gym and got busy. Lost 38 lbs in the first 2 months. Im now 190 at 34" waist again Im 6'1" 😊 Staying tuned to the Doc here is a big part of my education and such about it all here on his channel. Thanks doc! P. S. I started 2.5 years ago btw. No rebound and still active as hell. 😃

Bald Dr. Mike actually has videos on his channel showing how Aquaman, Wolverine and a bunch of other superheroes exercised for their roles. They're almost exclusively garbage but it's good for an easy laugh.

I used to be in a really good shape, but after an accident where I broke my back and a lot of other stuff, I am really not anymore. I almost fully recovered, but running (which was my favourite cardio to do) is basically off limits now as it puts too much strain on the lower back. So now I am upset with how I look, but there's not much I can do about it. I am not fat - I'm 84 kilos with 180cm height. A bit overweight, but I still retained a lot of muscle mass (I still go to the gym twice a week to lift and stretch, and I honestly didn't lose that much during my 4 years of recovery). However, my endurance tanked so hard, I feel like dying if I spend even 10 minutes doing cardio. I know that I could just follow a diet and get my body fat down relatively quickly, but I living by myself with a full time job - I don't have much energy left to cook something complex when I get home. And I've been on a diet before the trauma, and it puts a lot of strain on my mental, I don't feel well at all with it. So I don't really know what to do

I started exercising consistently about 3 years ago now (not lifting, mostly combat sports) and honestly the best part for me is that I just feel like I can *do* so much more. Didn’t used to be able to do 10 pull ups, didn’t used to be able to run 10km, didn’t used to be able to manage hard cardio rounds, etc. it’s awesome to look back and see how much happier I am with myself than back then

Always interested to know what about people who arent fat, what sortve benefits do they get from working out seeing they cant lose 20lbs of fat? Because that is clearly the common denominator in radical changes. No fat to lose? What changes? Do you just get fit?
