Are you looking for a new keyboard switch that's both silent and tactile? Look no further than GamaKay's latest releases, the Griffin and Pegasus switches. These linear switches with a tactile bump are pre-lubed, have an opening to let RGB shine through, and are available for just $14 per box. In our sound test, the Pegasus switches were the preferred choice for their smoothness and quietness. Check out our video to see and hear more about these switches and why they're the perfect addition to your keyboard setup.

The Pegasus switches ARE a bit mushy, but the complete quietness of them compared to the Griffin and Phoenix make them significantly more appealing imo

Agreed 100%. I had to replay it over and over because the typing sequences were too short. But it was enough for me to determine that the Pegasus switches are quieter than the other two. Phoenix has a higher pitch sound signature with the "clicking and clacking." I don't mind a bit mushy if it's quieter and not grating. Looks like I will be picking up the Pegasus switches.

i bought the phoenix switches after watching your video and boy am i glad i made the purchase. it's really quiet! compared to the lubed&modded gateron red pro 2.0 switches i had. similar like you, i also game at night in my bedroom and needed the quiet switches in order not to wake my wife up. thanks for the video on the phoenix. happy with my purchase.

Great to hear! after the first video ? Also, that's also the same reason I love mine. They make a loud frame sound quiet and on a quiet frame they are dead silent!

@@BootSequenceyes, purchase was made after watching your first video on the phoenix switches. i've also used plate pads (PE material, softer than Poron) for between the plate and switches as well as O rings to further dampen the sound

I'm looking for a replacement for my incredibly loud Unicomp buckling spring keyboard, and I am looking into getting Gamakay Pegasus switches. I think they are going to be a better choice than the Cherry Silent Black. I appreciate the sound test comparison, it was very helpful in making a decision.

Recommend to hand lube these more or just as good with factory lubed? I tried taking apart a Phoenix switch and may have slightly damaged the leaf spring so now it doesn't feel like a linear switch and more like a tactile version.

Excellent review. The only thing I would change is the length of time typing with each type of switches. But I do agree, I think the Pegasus is the most quiet. I can finally climb out of this rabbit hole. Thank you so much!

I would love to see side-by-side comparison tests of every high-end silent linear switch available, including (obviously subjective) evaluations of typing feel on top of the standard sound tests. There's so much innovation in the space of silent switches, with some of them (like he Haimu Heartbeats) taking a REALLY interesting approach to keep the typing experience from feeling "mushy".
@BootSequence

Let me rack up a budget, and I'll definitely get that for you
@Josh-99
@Josh-99 Жыл бұрын
@@BootSequence Oh, don't go insane. A handful of each switch would do, if you can find them at reasonable prices. You don't need to get enough switches to build out full keyboards of just one type of switch. I think the biggest problem would be properly lubing the switches before the test, because that's a time-consuming process but very, very important if you want quiet switches. I just noticed that even other well-established keyboard enthusiast channels haven't done anything like this.

I have tried the griffins, and on paper they look ok, also when I tried them I felt no problems. They are smooth, and have a very gentle tactile bump. But when I installed them in my hot swap keyboard, I don't like to type on them. They are good if you are a very light typist - the tactile bump is felt if you are not bottoming out. Sometimes I like to bottom out, and the they feel mushy, which is extremely frustrating to me. For home, I replaced them with Boba U4T which I like very much, for work I'm still in flux as to what to choose, but I'll eventually replace them.

@@BootSequence I did end up picking up the Gamakay Pegasus and it is as silent as can be! I am extremely satisfied with it. Thanks to your review! I will note the Gamakay TK75 and SN75 to my wish list of changes. Edit: I wish I found your channel sooner. I already purchased the Keychron and paired it with the Gamakay Pegasus, which is plenty silent/quiet. But I am very curious about the TK75. The layout of the keyboard is what I want. Volume knob, F keys, and arrow keys. I thought I would prefer 65%, but I definitely prefer 75% keyboards for minimalism with functionality. I will be picking up the TK75.

these seriously need to be lubed properly, they are very scratchy on the audio and i wouldn't have these on my radar until they sound better. But however the GMMK board isn't a great board to start with for sound as they don't have much in the acoustics department.

Pretty sweet keys for sure. I don't think I will upgrade from my Logitech MX Keys for a long time though.. Need the wireless, and logitech's wireless is damn near flawless. The low profile, sleek and silent keys. The key travel itself is also super short, decreasing activation time. Can type with a baby sleeping beside you, something I needed.
