The duu'a Sheikh mentions in the beginning is this part: أَنْ تَجْـعَلَ القُرْآنَ رَبِيـعَ قَلْبِـي وَنورَ صَـدْرِي وجَلَاءَ حُـزْنِي وذَهَابَ هَمِّـي an taj`ala ‘l-Qur'āna rabī`a qalbī, wa nūra ṣadrī, wa jalā'a ḥuznī, wa dhahāba hammī. It is from this longer dua (Du'aa al-Huzn) : اللّهُـمَّ إِنِّي عَبْـدُكَ ابْنُ عَبْـدِكَ ابْنُ أَمَتِـكَ نَاصِيَتِي بِيَـدِكَ مَاضٍ فِيَّ حُكْمُكَ عَدْلٌ فِيَّ قَضَاؤكَ أَسْأَلُـكَ بِكُلِّ اسْمٍ هُوَ لَكَ سَمَّـيْتَ بِهِ نَفْسَكَ أِوْ أَنْزَلْتَـهُ فِي كِتَابِكَ أَوْ عَلَّمْـتَهُ أَحَداً مِنْ خَلْقِـكَ أَوِ اسْتَـأْثَرْتَ بِهِ فِي عِلْمِ الغَيْـبِ عِنْـدَكَ أَنْ تَجْـعَلَ القُرْآنَ رَبِيـعَ قَلْبِـي وَنورَ صَـدْرِي وجَلَاءَ حُـزْنِي وذَهَابَ هَمِّـي Allāhumma innī `abduk, ibnu `abdik, ibnu amatik, nāsiyatī biyadik, māḍin fiyya ḥukmuk, `adlun fiyya qaḍā'uk, as'aluka bikullis’min huwa lak, sammayta bihi nafsak, aw anzaltahu fī kitābik, aw `allamtahu aḥadan min khalqik, aw‘ista'tharta bihi fī `ilmil-ghaybi `indak, an taj`ala ‘l-Qur'āna rabī`a qalbī, wa nūra ṣadrī, wa jalā'a ḥuznī, wa dhahāba hammī. O Allah, I am Your slave, and the son of Your male slave, and the son of your female slave. My forehead is in Your Hand (i.e. you have control over me). Your Judgment upon me is assured, and Your Decree concerning me is just. I ask You by every Name that You have named Yourself with, revealed in Your Book, taught any one of Your creation, or kept unto Yourself in the knowledge of the unseen that is with You, to make the Qur'an the spring of my heart, and the light of my chest, the banisher of my sadness, and the reliever of my distress. Reference: Ahmad 1/391, and Al-Albani graded it authentic.

We beg for Your forgiveness, Your guidance and Your love. We seek refuge in You from all the forms of evil that exist. Grant us protection, understanding, comfort and contentment through You and Your message. You know our hearts inside and out; reward us for the losses we have experienced - replace them with something special tailored by You and from You. Establish in us the ability to think, to recognize the truth from falsehood in order to contribute towards justice with righteous character and conduct. Ya Rabb grant us victory in this life and for eternity - the Ummah is uniting and pleading for one another all in Your Name - We know You are the One and Only. Blessed and Omnipotent are You. Multiply the blessings and reward those who support us and go out of their way to be the change we desire to experience. Release your wrath on those whom have wronged us and keep us away from them in every way. Elevate our status through and by the trials You have chosen for each of us. Remove our suffering and honor us by a means of Your Mercy by making us from a Sabiqun a Sabiqun. That being said, please shape us into the people, the sons and daughters, brothers and sisters, the spouses and parents You would be pleased with and instill in our children the traits of the Anbiya, and Your selected leaders. Establish and nourish between us the kind of relationship that brings coolness to the eyes, warmth to the heart, and energy to the soul - one You would be proud of and pleased with. Oh Allah, You know the pain of our brothers and sisters... alleviate us all enta Rabbi - replace it with true victory - purify our soul and everything that is with it. Grant them relief and reward them for their sabr and their iman... a great example for the world to see. Grant us and our loved ones a righteous death and make way for us to enjoy Your Glorious company while we live and once we die. Embelish our heart, mind, body and soul with Your rememberance and drive us into the actions worthy of Jannatul Firdeous, the home we all plead You for - make It our final destination and to be shared with those we love. We praise and thank only You for that which we can see and count and that which we cannot see and count for You are the One that creates and distributes Your blessings, Rabbana. Inspire Your creation to personify your values... instill in all of us the wisdom behind them and the tools to enact them naturally. Save us from the trials of the grave and the punishment of the fire. Open the gates to Jannah and place us on Its many pathways to enjoy and appreciate every step we take towards YOU. Help us and honor us on That Day and allow us to be amongst those whom You choose to enjoy *your glorious company* ... Amin amin ya Rabbul Alameen ♡
