In the opening, the host states that God will never forgive idol worship (polytheism). This is written in the Quran. However, the Quran also tells us that God forgives ALL sin. Can Dr Shabir clarifies this apparent contradiction. Thank you !

Allah forgives all sins including idolatry if you seek forgiveness and turn to Him before death engulfs you. But in case you don't turn to him before your death, idolatry is that one sin which as we understand from the quran that will not be forgiven on the day of judgement even if Allah forgives all the other sins. But again, His mercy is greater and it is upto Him. I hope this answers your question.

Well we don’t pray to the Quran. We don’t ask Quran for guidance or ask a book for any help. In fact we only pray to Allah. We believe in the unseen and have strong faith in the last day and day of judgment. Plus there are many examples in the Quran that makes it a book from the creator. It has 1000 scientific signs which match 100% with recent established science while being revealed 1444 years ago to an illiterate man in a desert with no one in that nation excelling in any scientific knowledge. The Arabs were poets and excelled with speech, literature and poetry. When the Quran came even the disbelieving men at the time who were the highest in poetry admitted that this form of speech can not be from man kind. Allah gives challenge is the humidity in the Quran. Find a contradiction In the quran. Produce a book like it or easier just one chapter of it. This challenge stood for 1444 years and still counting. This gives us Muslims proof that the quran is not a book that came from humanity because if it did then with time the book can be falsified but Quran excels more with time as it continues to be timeless and match developed science. Hope that clarifies some misconceptions as “worshipping a book”. We only listen to what is says and listen to the message we don’t pray to the Quran.

The Kaaba was built as a shrine for idol worshipping, so when people wondered why it's part of Islamic ritual the narrative that it's Allahs house was introduced. Quran says Allah is in the heavens. Muhammed liked the pagan rituals so found a way to incorporate it and if you doubt that it's Allahs house check out the 3000y old perfectly preserved footprint of Abraham when he allegedly built it. Amazing. Kaabas were built all over the place for idol worship as we read: 2911. It is related that Qays said, "Jarir ibn 'Abdullah said to me, 'The Messenger of Allah said to me, "Will you not relieve me from Dhu'l-Khalasa?"' which was a house where Khath'am stayed which was called the Yamani Ka'ba I set out with one hundred and fifty horsemen from Ahmas. They are good horsemen. I told the Prophet that I could not sit firm on a horse and he (the Prophet) struck me in my chest so that I saw the marks of his fingers on my chest and said, "O Allah, make him firm and make him a guided guide."' He went to it, smashed it and burnt it down. Then he sent the good news to the Messenger of Allah. Jarir's messenger said, 'By the One who sent you with the truth, I did not come to you until I left it as if it was a scabby camel.' He said, 'May Allah bless the horses and riders of Ahmas' five times." (Bewley, Sahih Al-Bukhari, Chapter 61. And then we have bowing down, circling it and kissing a stone. No true monotheistic God will allow this nonsense since it was NEVER standard practice among ANY of the prophets or messengers.

Alright. So concerning the Kaaba, we believe it was Abraham who first built it with his son Ishmael (peace be upon them) and some of the rituals like circling it etc started from them both. Later, the place had a significance for both Jews and Christians but with people deviating from the original teachings and going to paganism, they put idols inside and around it and kept following some forms of worship passed down from Abraham. As the place still held an importance in both worship and trades, Yemeni pagans wanted to build their own as well to attract pilgrims and traders, but of course that did not affect the popularity of Mecca and the original Kaaba. This was the only attempt to replicate I know of, so it's not like it was a common pagan temple or anything like that. After the Muslims came back to Mecca (due the the pagans breaking their treaty and killing some Muslim travelers) the prophet pbuh destroyed all the idols inside the Kaaba. Now the bowing down is not done to the Kaaba but towards it. All Muslims around the world pray toward that direction, but our prayer is given to God Himself not the the Kaaba. As for the practices of circling around, they were originally from Abraham and not from the Pagans and as for the stone, kissing it is not a mandatory part of worship and we know it can not harm nor benefit us. It is a special stone but has nothing divine in it. As for bowing down, you will find prophets (including Jesus) pbu them all praying that same way. I hope this helped clarify things. Cheers

@@osumanaaa9982 Doesn't it strike you as strange that the circling aspect was perfectly preserved, Abraham's footprint was perfectly preserved for 4000 years, but somehow pure monotheism got corrupted. Nowhere in history is it documented that people go from monotheism to idol worship. Secondly as you move further away from the Kaaba, you no longer face it as a straight line would take you into outer space unless your prayers observe gravity and follows the curvature of the earth. A person on the opposite side of the globe can read in any direction and still face the kibla but again he will face outer space without the curvature rule.

Humans do not have capabilities to have a connection with God directly, Just by saying Gods names it is impossible to know him, you may do your duty of praying etc, but ultimately you fail to know him, with idol worship you are not just worshipping him but knowing and practicing each attributes of God, bring the attributes of God into your life and thus awakening the God inside you (Atma) to make the connection with Brahman.

If you don't want to be an idol worshipper believe what God said in Exodus 20:3-5, or in Deuteronomy 4:15-19 Nations that exalt themselves to be great God is going to bring them down to hell, together with their idols of fabric. The nations can fool the ministers of God with their idols of fabric, but the nations cannot fool God with their idols of fabric. God is not going to share His glory with the idols of the nations.

Hinduism is only one of the religions/cultures where the followers have practiced worshipping of idols. Other such religions include Taoism, confucionism, Buddhism, Jainism, Chinese Folk, etc. One has to make a clear distinction between what humans including yogis are claiming to have seen and what the scriptures, which are considered to be the word of God, claims. Meaning we are talking about the difference between human claims and God's words. If you can see the difference then, in several places of the Hindu scriptures including Upanishads 4:19 (There is no image of Him) and Yajurved 40:9 (Do not worship created things) allude to the prohibition of idol worshipping even in Hinduism. So again, its upto the individual who he/she wants to believe. This explanation has been given in good faith and I hope you see the good in it.

Quran is not the first book to be revealed by God. It is rather the final book. Allah says that the message of God has been sent to all nations at different time periods through messengers and scriptures. Meaning from the starting point of time until the Quran came, different messengers spread the word of God at different nations. This message over time got corrupted and misinterpreted by humans. The final word of God, the Quran, mentions that Allah has safeguarded the message and that this will not be corrupted. Due to the corruption of the previous scriptures, God reiterates the truth in His final revelation starting from the concept of Monotheism to creation of human beings to the life stories of selected prophets all of which would have partly been present in previous scriptures revealed by God in some shape or form. Hence you can see the similarities. Now you might ask, well then someone could have collected all these scriptures and laid out a neat narrative. But the fact that Muhammad PBUH could neither write nor read and that Arabs at the time lived in disadvantaged situations makes it hard to believe that one person or a group of people would have committed to produce a masterpiece of a literature over a span of 23 years with a mathematical structure and thousands of scientific verses all pinned together in a tight knit composition. The best approach would be to arrange all the scriptures chronologically and you would find great similarities even between scriptures of two different religions other than Islam. For example, both Christianity and Hinduism share monotheistic beliefs in their scriptures. This doesn't imply one has copied the other but surely implies there is a chronological phenomenon in the way God has revealed and man has interpreted it.
