You can learn Greek and Hebrew and go to the original texts and make your own translation if you want. The idea that the Quran’s perfect preservation somehow means it’s from God is a terrible argument. I have tons of books on my bookshelf that are perfectly preserved.... so what?

How can the Qur'an miss out on any verses when Allah himself has taken it upon Himself to protect it after revealing it? It is stated in the Qur'an that for every verse abrogated, it is either replaced with equivalent or better verse clearlybsignifying that the total number of verses with or without abrogation would be SAME! The verses of abrogation are clearly mentioned in most cases in Sahi ahadeeth, and even during the compilation of the Qur'an, a Sahi hadith mentions they were not able to find one last verse, then every one started looking for it and eventually found and included it! Plus the greatest source of transmission of the Qur'an alongside written manuscripts was from memory because Arabs had superb memory! It was only upon the martyrdom of many Quranic memorizers that Umar(R.A) coerced Abu-Bakr (R.A) to compile the Qur'an in written form and this was standardized to a singular recitation in times of Usman(R.A). Plus, the words, "this day, I have perfected your religion for you, completed my favour on to you, and chosen Islam as religion for you" should end the debate! This implies the Qur'an is complete and not missing out any verses except those that were abrogated and replaced without decreasing the number of verses whatsoever! And Allah knows best!

The Quran originated from the creator. Allah SWT uttered it, so its original appearance and its beginning was from Allah. Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah (may Allah have mercy on him) said: The early generations said: The Qur’an is the word of Allah that was revealed and is not created. And they said that He speaks when He wills. Then they explained that the words of Allah are eternal, meaning that the divine attribute of speech is eternal.Not one of them said that any particular words of His are eternal, and not one of them said that the Qur’an is eternal.Rather they said that it is the word of Allah; it was revealed and is not created. As Allah uttered the Qur’an by His will, the Qur’an is His word, and it was revealed from Him and not created, yet despite that it is not eternal as Allah is eternal, even though Allah has the attribute of speech and speaks whenever He wills. So the attribute of speech is eternal (and part of His essence). Whoever understands the words of the early generations and sees the subtle differences between the various statements will no longer have any doubt about these difficult issues that many people are confused about. Islamophobe I presume is someone who dares to criticise Islam? The lie for centuries is that the Quran is perfectly preserved. After all Allah promised to preserve it, surah 15.9. Your teachers, like Dr Ali, have been peddling this nonsense for years and most continue to do so. It has been pointed out so clearly by non Muslim scholars, and yes, by KZbinrs like David Wood, that it is now agreed the traditional narrative has holes in it. At least by Yasir Quadi and Dr Ali. And who can blame them. The lie is fully exposed. "The emperor is on the altogether, the altogether, as naked as the day that he was born"... bit of Hans Christian Anderson in there for you. Even at the end Dr Ali gave the impression that that there are many scripts preserved from the 1st century of Islam. At best they are early 7th to mid 7th century, a hundred years or more after Muhammad's first revelations. Even the Birmingham scraps are pre-Islamic stories included in the Quran. Their carbon dating ranges from pre Muhammad to late in the 6th century. The carbon dating does not tell us when it was written, only how old the paper is.. Sheepgate, Sunan ibn Majah vol3, book 9, 1944 is hssan, good, and is 'acceptable' to hadith scholars. Some even include them as a lesser sahih. So, Dr Ali is a pick-and-choose your hadith man, or is heading for the Quran-only position in Islam perhaps?

Ok so the argument goes: 1. Hadiths of missing verses exist. 2. Classical scholars explain this by abrogation (only the final version of the Quran counts). 3. Abrogation is mentioned in the Quran. 4. Modern perspective: “abrogations complicated and unnecessary” (John Burton: Muslims invented abrogations later, but the “Muslims on the scene would deny the idea that verses were revealed and then abrogated). 5. Abrogations not acceptable because there is no physical evidence of missing verses. 6. No reason to believe the “missing verses at all” 7. Collection of the Quran was done in public space - so the Quran is not missing anything. Ok - so we mixed up the concepts of abrogations and missing verses - and STILL - the question of why the Hadith contains the stories about the missing verses - is unanswered. In ADDITION - denying the abrogation goes directly against the mentions of the abrogation in the Quran. So - is dr. Ally implying that the abrogation verses were I included in the Quran later?? Just like the Hadith stories? ..... I have listened this recording several times - and it occurs to me that a lot has been said here - only to cover up that there is no answer.... 😐

Mohammed Khan I’m not sure what you mean - the Hadiths can not be verified. These days, when the Hadiths are easily accessible to all - the self-contradictory nature of the Hadith can not be reasonably denied. What I see the Muslim apologists doing is saying “well, we need to distinguish the true Hadith from the false Hadith - and the WAY to do it is to, first, look for the compliance with the Quran and then, next, look of the Hadith paint Muhammad in the positive light - because- Muhammad could not have done any of those terrible and crazy stuff that he is described doing in the Hadith”. So that is the reasoning - but to refuse the Hadiths based on that you don’t like what it says - is dishonest and harmful. In reality - we just simply don’t know which Hadith is true - or, even - we don’t know if Muhammad considered himself a prophet - or he is more like a legendary figure - a religious “Robin Hood” - a myth of a great man based on an ordinary human being. That myth emerged generations after Muhammad lived- around 200 years later. Anyway - I can keep on talking about how dr, Ally’s argument uses fallacious logic to prove his argument - let me know if you’re interested - otherwise I write too much

As mentioned in QS 2:106 "We do not abrogate a verse or cause it to be forgotten except that We bring forth [one] better than it or similar to it. Do you not know that Allāh is over all things competent?" The revelation of Islam to the prophet is done gradually and not through dramatic shift. This allows people to adapt to changes naturally without feeling force.

The only thing that I think that is missing from this conversation is that the Quran isn’t abrogating itself like some claim, but I’m fact is abrogating previous corrupted Books of Revelation (hence the the heavy focus on Jewish and Christian themes). The Quran confirms what is still correct in the previous Books and corrects what is not correct in the previous Books. This understanding of abrogation makes infinitely more sense.

No idea what you are talking about. The text of the Qur'an is the same as it was 1400 years ago. Latest carbon dating if various manuscripts prove this. The discussion was whether verses of the Qur'an are supposedly abrogated, i e. they are not relevant as a legal injunction. Also as some salafis claim there were other verses which are not included in the Qur'an, e.g. stoning of an adulterer. But if you look at all the manuscripts from 1400 years ago, there is no evidence this for this.

The Qur’an was compiled during the life of the Prophet (S). The Prophet (S) said that he leaves behind for us the book of Allah (swt) and his progeny Ahlul Bayt (AS). He leaves behind what? The BOOK of Allah (swt). Let your rationality be your guide from here

Yes, imo the Quran was compiled during the prophet’s life. All Quranic evidence points that way. The idea that it was written on animals bones etc and compiled after his death comes from Hadith written hundreds of years later. I know what I choose to believe.

I think there is wisdom for that too, because it shows that when you want to change specific culture, then it has to be a gradual change. For example, this is why you have to be lenient with new converts and do not force changes so quickly.

No two quranic Manuscripts in complete agreement with each other. So, when Muhammed died (AD 632) there were some individual note-takers and reciters who had memorised parts/whole. Then first Caliph Abu-Bakr compiled a quran because so many memorisers got killed that the future was at stake. Two Caliphs later Uthman around 650 AD noticed that the recitations had started diverging so much that he ordered a new Quran to be made and all others to be destroyed. Mainwhile all the tribes were waging war, conquering etc.. Uthman's successor was the first one accepted by Shias and the one who actually shipped the final Uthman Qurans, with reciters. The reciters were needed because the Uthman Qurans did not contain the diacritics needed to make sure which words were actually needed. These diacritics were not added until about thirty years later. Until then interpretations and recitations were up to the individual. Sounds messy rather than miraculous.

This is limitation of life of the world. In this world, we will always have issues. In 7th century, Humanity didn't have paper, computer, printers that we have today. They used hand write it using ink on parchments, goat skin, etc. Message of Qur'an was not distorted at all throughout all the periods, you won't find people disagreeing on any heavenly information about angels, their nature, life after death, what is needed to attain salvation, not to the minute details. Qur'an has been preserved since its revelation until this day and will be so forever. Perspective you're sharing is given by orientalists who want to make good thing look bad by quoting other issues and confusing masses. Throughout time after death of Prophet Muhammad, there were fightings as some fake Prophets erupted to take advantage but none of companions or followers disagreed on anything pertaining to Qur'an. Some difference in style of pronunciation between Arab tribes wasn't a big issue

I don't find Dr. Shabir's answer plausible. He interprets things how he wants to see it instead of being honest & having good critical analysis. There are many videos where his interpretation/doctrine is just wrong. He has lost credibility with me. - In the Bible, God revealed things, decreed things (judgments), etc. for specific circumstances & times. Those verses, as history, are still recorded in the Bible. We know from other verses that those statements were conditional. So there is no reason for an All-Wise God to have things added or deleted from his message or for statements to be changed - It seems like to me that Muhammad was in fact manufacturing verses from his own mind. Some of those verses, even forgotten, were in practise until very recently like breastfeeding for adult and stoning. How they were forgotten or abrogated yet still in practise? Simple. Well the clay-tablets with Allah may just have been tipp-exed. From there on opinions are divided and there are human elements in the transmission. A relatively small sect like the Ahmaadiyya's belive abrogation does not exist. But most major schools believe in Abrogation. "With few exceptions, Islamic revelations do not state which Quranic verses or hadith have been abrogated, and Muslim exegetes and jurists have disagreed over which and how many hadith and verses of the Quran are recognized as abrogated,[6][7] with estimates varying from less than ten to over 500.[8][9]" So it is anybody's guess really.

There may be hadits but Allah has taken upon himself to protect Quran. Not only that Allah has protected his revelations even in the previous religious scriptures. Today on the instruction of Allah "Qul ya ahla alkitabi taAAalaw ila kalimatin sawa-in baynana wabaynakum Allah naAAbuda illallah (surah Al Imran: 64) We found some common terms in other religious scripture which Allah protected to bring all humans together by knowing similarities. To the idividual below who calls me jaahil, I want to point one thing, and that is there is not one single 100% sahih ahadith that can be traced all the way back to the Prophet[saw] which says any part of the Qur'aan is abrogated. It makes a complete mockery of the idea of abrogation, since how could the Prophet[saw] through whom the Qur'aan is revealed then cannot tell us which parts are i) supposedly abrogated by another verse ii) verses supposedly revealed but are not not part of the Qur'aan and are not recited anymore. This is NOT an acceptable answer because IF this were true, then the Prophet PBUH would have ordered that the Quran be compiled BEFORE his death. No, this did not happen because it was DIVINE WISDOM.... A fitna (test) for Muslims. The first generation that came directly after the Prophet PBUH. To see if they would honor the message or not. The second test was the succession. Although I grew up "Sunni" I have slowly but surely come to learn that indeed Prophethood was passed through the bloodline elected by Allah Subhanu Wa Ta'Alla and not a form of democracy elected by the people according to their wants and needs. The book and the succession WERE the test and as Allah Subhanu Wa Ta'Alla Says In His Glorious Book Himself.... "Kathiran minhom fasiqon" (Many of them transgressed). I went back to the ancient texts of Mesopotamia, the writing of Idris, Old Testament, New Testament, Dead Sea Scrolls, Sufis, Bihar Al Anwar and of course the Quran.... I noticed ONE consistent story that was told from the first generation all the way down to Christianity - albeit it was altered a bit depending on social and religious views of the time.... But for our purposes, a couple that are the parents of the final generation. Basically just as material world started with Adam & Eve eating from the fruit they should not have and will end with the "new" (for lack of a better word) Adam & Eve that will destroy ALL the knowledge that resulted from that fruit and destroy the darkness of corruption once and for all.... Hence we as a species coming full circle and reaching completion of the cycle we kept repeating through the generations. The texts all detail accounts of different trials this couple will endure on behalf of humanity so that humanity would come to recognize them when the time came or when these things came to pass..... Not for their sake, but so humanity would know that even though generations before warned them, this was the generation it was actually going to happen in. I sat and wondered why there was a consistent message through every generation that was excluded all together from Islam. Rather we are taught a very specific criteria for the "Mehdi" ..... And then "men of religion" took up political posts and named themselves the only people with the power to discern this alleged person. This hasn't sat well with me so today I was guided to search if there had been allegations of the Quran having things omitted and cake across this video. I now have no doubt that some Sahaba sold out. They sold out the bloodline and then tried to kill it off in Karbala. They left out the pages of the Quran that spoke of the final Adam and Eve story that was told by every Prophet and Messenger before. And they divided the Ummah in a way that continued to divide until we are where we are at today. Just as Peter did after the death of Isa Ibn Maryam by altering the message and starting the Popeship etc which again Allah SWT says was made up and never prescribed. However. Allah Subhanu Wa Ta'Alla Promised us that His message and TRUE Word are incorruptible.... And indeed that is the case. BECAUSE Allah Subhanu Wa Ta'Alla made it so some information would be buried, other carried by the enemy themselves, and other yet hidden in plain sight as no one will be given the knowledge to understand the code within until the appointed time. ....... There were no VERSES that were revealed and then later abrogated because it will make the Quran become a book which is SELF-CONTRADICTING and ALLAH says that Quran doesn't not self-contradict. Besides the verse which talks about "we do not forget to reveal an AYAH except that we bring something better than it or we bring something similar to it" is specifically talking about the SIGNS that were given to the prophets of the Bani Israel because in ARABIC, the word AYAH does not necessarily mean only the VERSE(S) but it means a SIGN as well.

I don't think the argument that this hadith is false holds up in this case, because all major schools of interpretation rely on this Sahih Hadith to justify stoning as part of the Shariah. Also, if this Sahih Hadith is not Sahih, even though it passes all the same criteria as the other Sahih Hadiths, then the isnaads that support the Sunnah would have to be rejected as unreliable. I am forced to conclude that the Sunnah proves that the Quran has not been perfectly preserved.

Chapter : Stoning to death of jews and other Dhimmis in case of adultery. Ibn Umar reported that Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) stoned to death the Jews, both male and female, who had committed adultery. The Jews brought them to Allah’s Messenger (may peace he upon him).

Verses were revealed for a specific time, and then redacted. On purpose. The Quran was revealed over a period of twenty-three years. New rules were introduced when the believers were ready to accept and apply them. Replacing a ruling with another is called abrogation (naskh). For example, alcohol consumption was forbidden over three stages (see 2:219, 4:43, and 5:90, respectively). Some of the Prophet’s companions said, “If drinking had been forbidden from day one, no one would have accepted Islam!”
