Another thing worth noting is that humboldt penguins typically mate for life, however his mate had basically "divorced" him for another younger penguin in the same enclosure, and had lead to the other penguins in the enclosure to reject him, which is likely part of the reason he was drawn to the cut out.

If no one has said it yet, the Who Killed Captain Alex with that "Video Joker" is the original. There isn't really a version without that, basically what happened was pirates would put a track like that on stolen movies so they could legally call it transformative work and sell it internationally but, people were used to seeing movies that way in Uganda, so when the director and his neighbors made that movie they decided to include one themselves. It also starts immediately upon putting it in your DVD player because in his words, many people in his home town have lost their remotes so that makes watching the movies easier. Also for clarity, Fyre did offer that 12000 dollar ticket but there's nothing to indicate anyone bought one. The majority of people were there on the cheapest pass available for the full week. The media did clown on the guests by suggesting everyone there was ultra rich but most people involved were just like, normal middle class couples and families suckered in because the lowest price package was actually cheaper than going to Great Exuma and staying in a big hotel. Supposedly this was part of their downfall, because Fyre planned to pay for everything using ticket fees but they didn't actually charge enough to pull it off.

You could make an entire video on Bir Tawil (and many people have). Short version: Egypt and Sudan have a border dispute based on interpretations of documents that former colonial powers set out as their borders. If you look at what both countries claim as their territories, neither claim a strip of the Saharan Desert called Bir Tawil. To say it's not claimed isn't entirely accurate; it's just that both countries insist it belongs to the other. It doesn't mean the piece of land is "up for grabs" for anyone to be able to say it's theirs; nobody would recognize such a claim and to actually be a country would require some sort of international recognition. As a practical matter, the land is in the middle of nowhere and has no services or infrastructure that would allow anyone to well, live independently there, much less rule it as a sovereign nation. Hasn't stopped some from trying though most attempts were probably just jokes.

29:26 The Elisa Lam case has mostly been solved. Its been stated she was suffering from a severe mental disorder and off her medication at the time of CCTV footage, as well as testimony from her hotel roomates days before she dissappeared. The water tank was found with the lid open, meaning Lisa could have opened it in a state of panic and disorientation and entered the water where she lost her life. Its still a mystery as to how she was able to get roof access and her more peculiar movements during those days off her medication, but this largely explains her dissappearance and death.

On Pool's Closed: it goes a bit deeper. The habbo pool was specifically closed because it was infected with aids and that's why people blocked it. When it gets weird is someone posted an image of the black guy in an afro and a suit (the habbo character) on a local swimming pool somewhere with the caption "pool's closed due to aids". Some woman went there with her children a week prior and thought that someone put up that poster because her children were black (not the case it was just a meme). So there was a big local news article on it, and so later someone photoshopped that woman in an afro with the caption "pool's open" which again attracted media attention. Also the raid wasn't because of the mods banning dark skinned characters. The raiders would constantly say nigger and stand in swastika formation, I can guarantee they weren't concerned with habbo's supposed racism.

I use to have Alice in Wonderland Syndrome. it typically only happen at night and I remember that specifically dressers and furniture like that would appear bigger or smaller then i knew them to be. there was also a weird time dilation kinda effect that would happen some time. i believe i was between the age of 8 and 10 when it happened. I would just lie on the bathroom floor and breath until it stopped. something about the cold tile helped bring me back. all in all a pretty weird time of my life

Same thing happened to me when I was around 8! It was mostly the time dilation thing. Which was so uncomfortable that it made me have a panic attack as well. I’m not one to self-diagnose but the weird perception things sound awfully familiar to me, I remember when I was younger being convinced (especially at night) that my bed was flying or like it was miles high in this black void or it was close to the ceiling than it actually was, also I remember not being able to find the door to my room as well. Oddly enough as well, even though this isn’t related I’ve never met anyone who’s had this sensation, I used to see the floor at night as sorta like TV static, and that hangs around for me even today if I stare at something in the dark long enough

Im a lucid dreamer. It’s legitimately sick!!!! Dream journals, reality checks and looking out for nonsense is a big yes. I recommend anyone who wants to try not to hold back!
@tsurugizaki Жыл бұрын
I got really into lucid dreaming a few years ago. It sounds too good to be true, but it really does work. Consistently doing reality checks can be tricky, as well as finding a check that works well for you, but once you make a good habit out of it they work like a charm. From what I know the dream journals are more for better remembering your dreams - I'm not sure how much they actually improve your chances for lucid dreaming. But they certainly work well for remembering dreams, and even if you don't have lucid dreams it's pretty cool to be able to remember the crazy shit that can happen in dreams.
@PinInCruiZ Жыл бұрын
It's true but requires patience and even then not guaranteed to work But when it does, it's amazing
@careyhendersonvocalstudios5429 Жыл бұрын
The hardest thing is staying calm enough when you realize you're dreaming to actually control things. I usually get so excited that I totally forget what to do to gain control and slip back into non-lucidity, or I just end up waking myself up accidentally lol In my experience the best method is using guided hypnosis videos designed for lucid dreaming. There are some really good ones on KZbin. Once you figure it out, you can go directly from being awake to "waking up" in a lucid dream, fully in control. No need for reality checks or any other stuff that requires "work". Just be prepared to potentially have to deal with sleep paralysis for a few moments when you regain consciousness, which can be very scary for the uninitiated.
@ThePhantom451611 ай бұрын
I lucid dream most of the time, typically in the state when I'm waking up and go back to sleep again - it's interesting, mostly how I notice I'm dreaming is when a scene just shifts for no reason & something else starts happen, or someone suddenly is someone else.

Some additional info regarding some of these factoids: - Jim Davis himself has acknowledged the existence of "Garfield Minus Garfield" and has said that he likes it, considering it an interesting interpretation of his work. Jon's perceived loneliness was later addressed by finally pairing Jon and Liz the veterinarian after several years of a "will they, won't they" dynamic. - Tommy Wiseau has admitted as of recently that he was born in Poland, as people speculated he was Polish because in "The Room" there is a scene of Johnny and Mark's confrontation at Johnny's birthday party where he refers to Mark as a chicken and says, "cheep cheep cheep", which is the Polish interpretation of a chicken clucking. He has also said that he funded "The Room" using money he received by importing leather jackets from Korea. EDIT: An additional factoid about "The Room" is that the HD version of the film is lost media. Wiseau before filming began purchased two professional movie cameras, one in 35mm and one in full high-definition. This goes against standard filmmaking protocol as cameras are usually rented rather than bought as it's cheaper and keeps production cost low. During the movie's development, Wiseau requested that the film be filmed simultaneously on both cameras, but eventually decided to simply scrap the HD camera entirely, making the HD version of the film lost media, as Wiseau presumably threw away the existing footage along with the camera.
@amelialonelyfart88483 жыл бұрын
Additionall additional info: Wiseau was (and still is I thnk?) known for having a mildly successful tourist trap and fashion line in the 90s, so it's generally accepted that he used that to fund the film

Library of Babel was actually based on a short story of the same name where they found an infinite library with random combinations of letters in each book. It talks alot about how people reacted to it, with some throwing their lives into a religious quest to find some meaning out of the nonsense, while others decided to cleanse the library by destroying any test deemed indecipherable or nonsensical. Eventually humanity lost interest in the library, with most leaving, dying of old age, or even killing each other in disputes over what should be done with the library. Very interesting story that is worth the read, and I'm somewhat disappointed that it wasn't brought up in the iceberg.

27:04 An interesting detail here for anyone not versed in English history, especially during the Viking Age, is that "Northumbria" was a petty kingdom in the North East of England, its borders varying over the years but at its greatest extent was from Edinburgh (the capital of modern-day Scotland) to somewhere near York. Look it up on a map, that's pretty substantial. It was the site of the first of the viking invasions and its king would eventually become a puppet of the vikings before the areas surrounding York, firmly in the hands of the vikings, would go on to form their own "Yorvik" petty kingdom. There's a lot of interesting history up there that largely goes unheard of due to it being overshadowed by the vikings and later unification of England. Its something of a rabbit hole unto itself looking at its history and how it differs vastly from the southern kingdoms. I've not read the fan fics but to my knowledge Hogwarts is meant to be in Scotland so its possible that the writer got their pen-name from the historic region that the castle is in.

ItemLabel isnt as shallow as you describe it here. I wouldn't call their business model "viral marketing schemes" in the sense of relating to #youth but rather that their brand actually appeals to the internet. It's a project by a lady in Japan who makes a lot of weird, eclectic art. The theme song was made by her, and it showcases her off-beat taste. Their staff is equally into surrealist humor, and the main social media outreach guy (Jamz) is a PS2-era styled Vtuber/content creator who also creates his own assets. All of their branding, music, and in-jokes as well as the "universe" theyve created is very clearly brought up through genuine passion and fun, and they love to interact with their community. They don't try to appeal to anything but their own image.

What it comes down to is this: a receptor on your skin (or elsewhere in the body) picks up signals, such as touch; the receptor gives rise to a neuron (a nerve cell - think of it as a long wire) that travels and eventually reaches your brain. In the part of your brain responsible for tactile sensation, that signal is interpreted as touch. So therefore you feel "Oh, my hand has touched something." Now, pretend that your hand had been cut off-- so the receptor is gone along with your hand. But the nerve cell (the wire) still has a large part of it in your body. That long wire still travels all the way up to the part of your brain responsible for tactile sensation. So now, pretend that there's an exposed "wire" (nerve cell) at the place where your hand had been cut off. And something activates that wire, the way that normally a receptor would - like maybe nearby molecules inside your severed limb had activated the wire. And then this triggers an impulse along the wire. This impulse will still travel all the way up to the part of your brain responsible for tactile sensation, and it will be interpreted as touch ("Oh, my hand has touched something" - even though the actual hand no longer exists - as though what gave rise to the signal was a receptor on the hand that was once there. I hope that I have explained this clearly.

I really wish someone starts a project story that starts off with the same story quality as “my immortal” but gradually increases in depth, character development, emotional weight, all that good stuff, until it becomes an amazing story. Although the issue with this is that if ideas in the beginning were too terrible to properly mold into something good, they’re gonna need to be retconned.

Since this video came out, it has come out that Tommy Wiseau owns property in California that he rents out, which is where he got a decent chunk of money. He's a real estate mogul and good at it.

I had Alice in wonderland syndrome when I was younger and it was at its worst for around a month. I still have the odd occurrence but as I’ve gotten older I can control it much better. The best way I can describe the feeling is imagine yourself in an empty room and this “room” expanding and everything feeling very far away. These experiences only happened alone in my room at night, the worst experience was when my wall turned into a hill and a strange man was yelling at all kinds of animals to stampede and run towards my direction. Looking back at it it all makes zero sense but it caused me a lot of anxiety and I was unable to sleep alone for around a month.

1:11:10 Lmao, I have that and actually found the name of that "thing" a few months ago when I finally wanted to know what was happening to me during migraine-episodes - I always had these weird.. changes in perception every few weeks, they lasted only for a few minutes or hours, but I usually felt like objects or people were WAY further away, or smaller, or just.. appeared differently? The tiny textures on my wall looked like they were mountains, extremely far away, my own fingers felt like they didn't belong to me, etc It sounds way stranger than it actually is, but it probably explains why I've always had VERY vivid fever dreams and when I'm actually sick/having migraines - those are probably the times when it shows the most

Actually, if you watch ItemLable's videos, Peepy is a known criminal who just got out of jail! They've never said what their crime(s) were, and a lot of their items have a similar mysterious/dangerous/ominous feel, with the very last line of description on Sucklet being "Let them into your home. Now." And the description for another plush, Thicc Brungus, having random capitalized letters spelling out "HELP ME". Even their normal stuff is pretty surreal, with one of the characters/plushes Dinkle trying to be a chiptune artist while suffering from loneliness and wanting approval, and a newer one, Donuts, is constantly crying, but not because they're sad, they just can't control it. So if this seems up your alley, check it out! They've made promotional music videos for basically all their items, too! (although most are sung in a thick accent)

13:00 - A fun fact is that the word “bibite” (plural bibites) is an expression in french quebecois that is most often used to describe insects that you can’t identify or just bugs in general. It can also sometimes be used to describe larger animals that you can’t quite make up. For example, seeing an animal from a distance that you can’t see properly because it’s obscured by the environment. It’s always funny to hear someone say it

About Tommy Wiseau: It is highely likely that he comes from Poland. The makers of the documentary Room Full of Spoons alleged that he was born in Poznan ( a major city in western Poland) as Tomasz Wieczorkiewicz (Tomasz is a Polish equivalent for Thomas and there are theories which suggest that "Wiseau" comes from how Americans would attempt to pronounce the Polish word "Wieczór", which appears in some Polish surnames such as the aforementioned Wieczorkiewicz). Tommy took these filmmakers to court for invasion of privacy, but ultimately lost and had to pay 700 thousand big ones to them and allow them to distribute the documentary. Additionally, Tommy's accent and mistakes which are common in Polish speakers, such as the omission of articles, are further hints of his Polish origin.

The appeal of peepy isnt the name, it’s that they look weird. The company made Sucklet after a japanese artist’s original plushie and it looked weird so everyone wanted one, leading to the recreation. That’s probably why peepy was made, because people like funny looking stuffed animals.

Lucid dreaming worked for me. I kept a journal and took melatonin and 5htp and kept the doces marked in my journal. My reality check was trying to make a ball of flame in my hand. I would wake up every morning and do it, while listening to a lecture or whenever I felt odd. I actually stopped because my sleep schedule started to become bad and one month in I started to up the dosage of 5htp. I would sleep super good but felt tired when I woke up. Definitely controlled my dreams and it was awesome.
@daveshif2514 Жыл бұрын
yup i also practice lucid dreaming, it starts with keeping a dream journal and memory exercises. unfortunately it does have side effects. personally i never have sleep paralysis but this is the number one thing i warn people about if they want to try this, it can apparently be very nasty for some people (i did used to have this when i was very young, which is prob what spawned my eventual interest in lucid dreaming, ofc i was too young then to know what sleep paralysis was, and i think many children have it normally). i also fear i also impacted my own brain in a minor way with sleep deprivation so i would NOT suggest depriving yourself of sleep.

Would this classify as lucid dreaming? So I fall flat with my ear pieces in my ears to enjoy a mutahar video. I fall asleep and the dreams starts with me waking up and starting to do my homework of sorts with my ear pieces still on. However when I try to pull those out, they wouldn't at all and after doing so for some time realize that I was in a dream and my mom wakes me and sits besides me. I try to get the pieces out but they wouldn't at all as my mom asked me what was I doing. This repeated twice before I actually woke up.
@nexviro8987 Жыл бұрын
@@Theblecquetzal that's more of a vivid dream, vivid dreaming is one step below lucid dreaming. In a vivid dream u remember it clearly and realize you are in a dream. Lucid dreaming is that but being able to control your dream.

@angrygoat29373 жыл бұрын
@@Ishartedbro it’s pretty much a disorder that is caused by excessive trauma during childhood which causes the personality to split into multiple such as protector, nurturer, etc. usually a person with DID doesn’t know they have DID ( your brain doesn’t want you to know) but people generally find out anyway. Each personality is it’s own person and it’s good to respect them as such. PSA: People with DID aren’t scary, treat them with the same respect you would treat anyone.
