@@katehobbs2008rag rugs and cotton kilims can either go into a large washing machine or be taken outside for a.beating when the muds dry. Leaving all outdoor footwear by the door helps enormously.

Look at his body language each time s task is completed, especially if it was a substantial effort! That feeling of mastery after having learned and improved on very useful skills can be enough, and Dan is also literally building his future! All the effort put in now, while he is young, healthy, motivated and able, will make his life so much easier as age starts to catch up. He will no doubt train the boys to build and husband the resources, so there should be a slow and steady rise of the property value. Dan gets to put walls where he wants them, even if it was done differently before the fire, instead of replicating traditions that no longer make perfect sense. Then it'll be time to decorate to his taste, and he has proven excellent at that, already. In a couple of years he will live in his dream home, safe and practical, with income from guests and content production, establishing his sons' heritage and his own legacy.

Great work! That's more flooring than any other traditional Yurt would have had. My fathers one has been sitting on flat tarped soil for over 18yrs. Very similar to his in all aspects really. The Yurt itself is quite traditional in build up, color and ornate detailing. Where (like his) it differs from that is in the overall diameter (a traditional one is 5m across), the second door(normally it would just be the 1 entrance door), the glass in the door (it would otherwise be windowless), and most likely the Plexiglas windows in the dome with a cutout for the stack (it would traditionally be half open and covered by the flap on top if need be). There's a whole lot of traditional religious elements in them as well if you choose to adhere to them. There's always a handsaw above the door in between the roof beams and the cloth with the teeth facing the door to keep out bad spirits. You would normally have only the one door open, never 2 as it would allow spirits to pass through. The centre rope is tied to a big rock (you have plenty) and the end tucked away as a endless knot. In case of a big windy storm have the front door and top flap open, It will allow the wind to pass through. The rock will allow for some movement (I've witnessed it as a whole being slightly lifted, its impressive) but will keep the center dome down and prevent damage. You would again traditionally enter in a right circle going around the centre where on your right side you would find the kitchen area, center back a seating area and on the left the sleeping and washing area. And the last one I know of; with the centre being the centre point of energy (literally with the stove being there) you don't pass through the centre 2 uprights as to not disturb that energy. There's even thought in the Kris cross pattern and knotting of the wall but I'm not to sure of that one. As i said earlier the heat management is amazing in them, with a good centre stove everything revolves around them; cook, eat, bake bread etc. Quite amazing structures really, very peaceful to live in. Any way that's all I know!

@@thomasherrin6798 At the very least Dan will have to pin up the sides of the tent & pin up the sides of the tent and only burn in the middle, not the very edges and have a coupe of buckets of water ready to douse any errant flames. Then he can paint the very edge of the platform in an oil-based water proof paint, along with the outside edges and the edges of the insulation to waterproof the bit on the outside as well. Such a nice home to live in while you are rebuilding the château. So happy to see the new, safer scaffolding too. The boys are going to be so excited to see the yurt and sleep over with their dad. Looking forward to seeing how you decorate the inside. Not sure a heat source works in a yurt. Thank God you have permanent shelter for the winter months. Get plenty of rest Dan. Dan, you are incredible. You achieve single-handedly in days what would take months for others. No wonder your channel is so successful. Also, what a video legacy you are leaving your boys and likely historical evidence for the chateau’s archives. Your work ethic is just unbelievably outstanding. I love the colours of your yurt. Enjoy your sleep.

Never would I image my search history to include “where to buy a yurt in France “. Dan I’m equally enthralled and amazed by your work ethic and tenacity and will apparently watch anything you do. Rooting for you all the way, cannot wait for tour of your yurt.

What a lovely ornate yogurt. Finally somewhere to call home. Which is well well deserved. I can’t stop thinking how amazingly weather timed it was the night you put all the flooring down didn’t rain, and then they just got that yard up when it opened up the heavens. There is somebody above taking care of you my friend, And very well deserved. Like everybody says get some rest for the next stage of crazy❤

I reckon you should take a couple of days off. Tiredness can kill as that's when mistakes are made. Eat, sleep, read a book, build dream castles, let thoughts drift into your head and bubble into big ideas, see the boys... then start again refreshed.

Wow! Looking when they lifted the center hub I thought to myself: "no way they'll be done in a few hours!" but they were! It looks amazing and you'll now have a more secure dwelling that's also permanent. Congrats and welcome home Dan! You deserve it. Glad you now have the safer equipment to reach new heights too.

Wow! Thank you.. for sharing ..the Yurt is amazing.. now you will be protected from weather dry up off the ground under a roof. I would put gravel all around the ground like a sidewalk. Or Use boards to keep the the mud and dust from being tracked inside. Construction sight are known for creating dust.

Crikey. Insulated flooring - what's this, some sort of super-yurt?! You'd better make sure the interior reflects the quality, dedication, humanity and creativity of the owner. Edit: OMG what an incredible thing. And the scaffolding too, what a day. I'm slightly stunned at realising just how much I look forward to your videos. Coming up to 250k subscribers and all single handed. It's all pretty awesome in the true sense of the word.

Dan, maybe not having enough time to burn and lacquer the floor was a blessing. Put a decent clickboard floor in, this would make a really wonderful glamping rental when you no longer need it. Also, I would leave the yurt where it is when you have the chateau done. It’s now part of the new history of the chateau ❤️
