This is a REALLY interesting format because of the fact you can burn the card which allows you to win. While this means you cannot win the match, it doesn't necessarily mean your opponent automatically wins and you can try and chase lethal before they win to force a draw on the match. Very compelling.

But it does mean they win. The rule is you can't win the game until it's played. If you win ( the opponent dies) before that, you lost, basically. There is no state where it's a tie. Otherwise you could just kill your opponent before playing the monkey to force a tie.

I had a dedicated deck I called monkey hunt I did this with years ago. Hunter was my theoretical best class to get it. You have tracking and lots of draw and ways to find her. I've managed to find her and get the monkey on the magical turn 5. It's somewhat consistent. But Elise sucks so much you will be dead before you can play it in wild. Stay monkey hunting. Weird thought, the _Molten Pick of ROCK_ could be used to an interesting effect here. Since you're not allowed to defeat your opponent until you've played the Golden Monkey, you can force an opponent to take the damage if they can and you can't.
