Kinda of my story. Lived on a corner on a cul de sac and the neighbor had a brand new 911T Targa. I would be watering my parents' lawn and the car would be making the turn and the engine would be downshifting. The most awesome sound I ever heard. That was 1968 and I was 11. Up to that time, my dream car was the Mustang Boss 302. Two years later, the movie Le Mans comes out. I remember getting a paper model of the 917 from the local Gulf gas station. I was hooked. As soon as I was 18, I marched myself into my local Porsche dealer and bought me a brand new 914 in 1975 (had gone to a technical high school and was working at Hughes Aircraft as an electronic technician since I was 17). The memories of me in the car when I first got the keys is etched in my memory like it was yesterday. I joined the local Porsche Owners Club (still in existence to this day) and would race the car at Riverside International Raceway and Ontario Motor Speedway. Otis Chandler, the publisher and owner of the Los Angeles Times, had bought a Steve McQueen 917 and would bring it to the track. Those were the glory days. In some ways, when I got the 914, it was more impressive than when I finally got my 911 (997) even though when you hit the throttle of the 997, that engine sound is awesome, different from the 1968 911, but still awesome. At Riverside, I had no fears and topped out the car at 135mph. With the 997, its top speed is 177mph, but could not go any faster than 145mph because the fear of crashing kept me from going faster, even though the car was 100 times more stable than the 914.

Just seeing this today. Quite possibly the best short I've ever seen. The story telling is so subtle, clear, deep and well written. The brilliance in this is that I do not believe this to be a motor film at all. It is a film that expresses what we go through in life; the ups & downs, the sorrow of defeat, the agony of hardships, the struggle & perseverance to see something through, pure elation of victory - not of a race; but of a life full of passion. For a brief moment before the start of the race the protagonist was already the biggest winner. Cheers!

Racing at the 24h of Nürburgring next year if all races towards it work out this season. I never raced karts or formel. I just had passion and too many hours with my logitech steering wheel. Last race we even made it to the podium.. and this movie made me shed a tear because it has so mich emotion to reach this goal. Well done.. and somewhat true. I think of it like this…my Porshe will never leave me or find a new lover…and we can fly!!!! 🚀🏎🔥🔥🔥 In my experience, you can find someone who hates your racing or who embraces your dreams because they have that same fire and passion and they totally,100% GET IT. I know which man id want. Sometimes we sacrifice our dreams for love and wake up an empty shell of ourselves, miserable and with our fire put out. I think about love. Does someone that is fine having that happen to you in love? I don’t think so. I know it’s sad and your heart may be broken. I know mine still is because I loved him with everything I had. At the same time, I’m at the track flying with my heart on fire and he’s already with someone else…didn’t love me so much after all. You give in and give all of it up and they still won’t be happy. Find your own happiness and then find someone that wants nothing but to see you on fire and living the dream (and do the same for her!). Let your lover be free to really live and you’ll find a love like nothing you’ve ever imagined possible. I’m not saying it’s not on 4 wheels like mine tho 😂🏎🔥🔥🔥 I’m sorry for your loss I hope in time you’ll find yourself in a place of peace and you’ll be happy in your car still 😉

I've got goosebumps! This movie is so well done, that you even must not love racing to love this film. At the End I was missing a much powerful engine sound. Thanks A lot!

Omg that one.. This should be officially promoted by Porsche. This gives me chills as I can in some part relate to that situation. Unbelievably good work ! Bringing through all the emotions without a single word .. wow ! Thank you for this ! I hope I'll see a lot more coming from you !

Properly good film. Well done. Agreed that Porsche ought to be promoting it. Took me right back to the the same age and now I have two Porsche 911s - a '72 S and a '72 T being rebuilt into a '72 2.5 S/T. Porsche gets in your blood...

when I was incredibly young. many years before I could drive. I remember seeing a horrific racing accident on TV and the first thing I thought even at that young age was. "That man had no respect for that machine". A car is a machine a cold emotionless machine. It is important to remember that and to remember that its power is to be respected. I never forgot that and my love for racing just kept growing.

Literally everything in this video is perfect. I was even surprised at how much the kid and the grown man look alike

This one gave me the chills.. my dad used to interview f1 drivers and I could sit in the cars and watch the races. Played tons of racing games, but never drove on a racing track in real life

it's been in my recommendations for a while, and I usually don't watch it because I thought it was an ad. but today I decided to watch it, and I gonna say, it's exactly what an ads should look like. the quality, the message, the emotions, it's just perfect. hats off to you!

Boy would it be seriously cool if talent and passion was all it took. Then I'd be a pro GT3 race driver by now. But unfortunately that not all. You also need money. Literal tons of money.
