Guys ,can one of you try to explain to me why Jonny Francome said over 5 years ago that he is against the whips use in racing to try to improve a horse's placing. He said it shoud only be carried in case of emergency for safety reasons. Many of my non racing friends are turned off racing because of the use of

Its a stroke if you make an attempt to hit the ball regardless if you make contact with the ball. On the tee and green if you hit the ball by mistake it it replaced without a stroke or penalty. If the same happens on the fairway the stroke counts or replaced and penalty applies.

9 is the cut off point for losing the race. If it was 9, he'd keep the race but get banned.

Cheltenham was the quietest I've seen since 2013 when I started going to this meeting. No queues at the bar or food stands. So easy to move around. How the Jockey club can't see that their prices are way off is staggering. Still no 3 day ticket and having to pay the equivalent of over €130 for entry. €9.30 for a pint €14.40 for a gyro or burger is just not value for money especially when you see 4 runner races and not 1 race is a Grade 1.

Yep, the courses with big meetings have gone way to far. I was at Aintree on the Thursday of the National meet this year and a burger & can of pop was just shy of £20. I was disgusted. The National meeting is just one big piss up. You couldn't swing a cat without a bar being in the way. I reckon only about 25% of folks there were actually there for the racing. I wont be going back anytime soon. Cheltenham in March is totally unaffordable especially if you want accommodation. Complete rip off. This will, as you've indicated, kill the sport.

Horses, in all walks of like, drop dead every day. You cant wrap them up in cotton wool. That Jockeys Competition won't repeat in 2026 because its a waste of money. What sort of pay back do they expect for all that dosh? I can't see them even covering costs.

nobody gives a flying witches fart who these jockeys are or who wins. utter bollox. also, flutter has massively neglected the exchange so for them to chuck away this much cash for jockeys who will not do anything different is yet more bollox
