I love shows from the 1984 - 1985 era. I did not get to see them in person until 1991, but tapes from those earlier years are what sparked my love for the band.

I was there at the.very beginning. Those early shows at Tip's, Jimmy's, the Dream Palace, Luigi's, the Quad, were legendary...

This was the first year I saw the Rads. It was at the Union bar in Minneapolis.

didn't see them until 87, many full weekends at the Caboose, a few of those Crew of Dads private parties, the Halloween shows, and Trout Air. Those were days.

Camille was superman on guitar. He didn't look or act the part, but he could rip my head off. Ed could write a song during the day and the Rad's would play it that night. Who else could pull that off or even have the nuts to try.
@ulbruce8 күн бұрын
Towards the end Ed would write a song, email the song and chords to the other members, and then they would write their own parts. When you play together for over 33 years you can do that...

17:58 is Camille and nobody else. That phrasing is amazing. It has stuck with me since my law school days at Tulane back in the 80's. Also, whoever stole that black Les Paul Custom has a special place in hell waiting for him/her.

I think it might actually be a really deep mahogany color in this video. At any rate, same outcome for the thief.

Dave, back in the 80's were you part of the Tulane crowd? Just wondering. I got to know some of the alum over the years. Been seeing them since 1988, first up in the northeast and then down here.

@@davidsaliba8039 Looks like it could be that read deep wine red Gibson used a lot back then. Again either way - same outcome. I've had 3 axes lifted over the years - painful.

Actually that's Camille and Dave trading licks. Great stuff either way. A band with chemistry like no other.
