Man this was truly special. Thanks for getting Warner again to do this spotlight on the Raiders. This is a fine example that before the draft picks, before the FAs, before the contracts, there is a boatload of conceptual work that goes into each play just for a CHANCE to get a positive result. To bring it back to Warner, it's nice that he's kept up with the game these past 10 plus years with all the changes it's brought along since he left. Most guys don't do that, but he really is about appreciating the game, and all the intricacies that stem from it, and evolve.

Thanks TLD! Yes, and some great examples of multiple ways to teach concepts. Very challenging to know when the coach should take more control, or let the players free style a bit etc. Yeah, Kurt is awesome. @Eastra32 жыл бұрын
@@rollen901 As a Raiders fan, we've had strong offenses for like 7 of our last 10 years, from Tom Cable and Hue Jackson to Al Saunders (2 yrs of top 10 offense), then during one year under Del Rio with his first OC Bill Musgrave (1 yr of top 10 offense), Then outside of the first year when Gruden traded a third of the team's talent, we've been top 10 almost every year under Gruden or about 11th. You know what keeps the Raiders from being a consistent dominance in the AFC West??? Our trash defense for almost 2 Decades. Raiders have barely cracked top 15, let alone top 20 in defense within the last 2 decades, and that is why Derek Carr has gotten so much heat, because he always has to pull off comebacks for us to win, and when he can't, half the fanbase wants to blame it all on him. If Raiders don't pair this strong offense with a strong defense, we will be 3rd or 4th within the Division, because all the teams in the AFC West have a good offense, but the Broncos and Chargers clearly have defenses, and the Chiefs have a better defense then ours.

7:12 Gotta collision the Slot and TE in this concept to buy time for the backers to get back in the underneath passing lanes. But as a defense you gotta do your work early and win in running situations to lower the threat of the run game. Overall you have to throw off the timing of these plays and force the QB to come off that first read allowing the defense to get in passing windows.

1st time viewer = new subscriber. I love film breakdowns! I find it infinitely fascinating, especially when players break the mold or utilize their knowledge/intelligence/creativity, technical skills, and/or athletic abilities to transcend the known limits of their positions! I've been a Raider fan since age 5 and was blessed with seeing the Raiders win a couple of Superbowls when I was a kid, wore Raiders player's numbers throughout Pop Warner and High School Football, and I have suffered along with the team through years of mediocrity, subpar coaching, player performances and overall dysfunction of my favorite franchise for far too long!!! But thank God, we have the best Management Team, Head Coach, Coaching Staff and Players from top to bottom that the Raiders have had in eons!!! AND I can't wait to see the Raiders win Superbowls, again!!! I absolutely love Carr!!! One of my favorite memories was dancing, screaming, stomping my feet and clapping my hands to cheer on the Raiders Defense for Carr's 1st career win vs the playoff bound Chiefs in Oakland on TNF in the pouring rain and his leadership, poise and his clutch game winning touchdown drive won me over that night and I have been a huge fan of his ever since, unfortunately, the organization hadn't provided him with a complete team = Coaching Staff and Players that was equivalent to his abilities, they had always been deficient in at least one, usually 2 or 3 aspects of the game and had lacked quality depth behind the starters, but all of that has changed... and I Am Loving It!!! Looking forward to more quality content from you! Thank You! Just Win Baby... Just Win, the Superbowl, Baby!!! HAHAHA RN4L

@@birish21 lol those are all some nice players but considering Hobbs youth and Moehrig’s inexperience I’m not buying them as proof of the D being strong. Mullen hasn’t proven he can stay healthy and I have seen no evidence whatsoever that he can be true CB1 for an entire season. Ya Sin has never proven he’s a premier starter and neither has Averett. The best standout guy from last year who wasn’t a rookie was Casey Hayward and he’s not on the team anymore. So yeah, shout all the names you want. My point still stands: this defense has a lot of question marks.
@jameshannagan42562 жыл бұрын
@@julianburrell5058 They have a lot of young ascending players on defense many of whom were high draft picks. They have more than enough talent to have a good young defense. The one unit that scares most of us is o-line if they can manage that they should be one of the better teams in the league.
@julianburrell50582 жыл бұрын
@@jameshannagan4256 I'm still not buying it. Like I said in the other response: Some nice pieces but nothing that really jumps out at me aside from the pass rush. The needed a true CB1 and Safety and failed to attack those positions with big names in free agency or the draft. I could see them in the post season between their talent on offense and the expanded format. But between their thin O Line and lack of playmakers in the secondary, I doubt a deep playoff run is in the cards.

Honestly for a team like the Raiders and adding a coach like Josh McDaniels from my favorite team sadly to their system this a team that ball out and Derek Carr might finally have a statistic season and might be an MVP candidate or better yet win the the MVP. Their defensive side of the ball is good too especially adding Chandler Jones as their edge rusher. This is could be a time we could see the Raiders make their Super Bowl run in 11 years and I think Mahomes and the Chiefs better watch out facing this team this upcoming season

Hunter Renfrow= The new slot king. In the mold of Edleman and others, he uses his quickness and wiggle to create separation. If other receivers want to improve their route running, they should study Devante Adams and Hunter Renfrow! They are amazing! As a Dolphin fan I hope Tyreek and Jalen take note here, they could actually get better using more deception like Hunter and Devante.
@wirebug422 жыл бұрын
Renfrow* but I totally agree. I like that he brought up he preseason clip against Ramsey. That was talked about alot at the time, and Jalen was sort of pissed/butthurt...but Mcvay and Kupp were drooling. It came out about halfway through the year(while Kupp was setting his pace to have the record breaking year that he did) that he himself attributed alot of his increased success to him and Mcvay sitting down to study nothing but Renfrow tape on these specific routes(usually redzone). If you go back, and know what you're looking for, its REALLY apparent just how much Kupp took from the Book of Renfrow Route Running and applied to his game this year. And obviously, as a super talented wr himself, and the clear #1 on his team volume-wise(something Renfrow will likely never be able to say), he literally became the most productive wr in the league. Hunter is the best wr in the league, no one can change my mind.

This is our year. I have been a huge fan of Derek Carr since 2014 day 1 with the team. He has had so many things to work through with this team and given everything he has to the Raiders. He has said he never wants to play with another team. When Derek has confidence and plays aggressive he's a top tier QB. He's surrounded by top tier weapons he trusts especially Adams his best friend from college where the last time they played together had a 5,000+ yard season. He's more of pocket passer in a league where mobile qbs (who can run like a WR or RB) are considered the way to go. But the QBs who last the longest are guys like Brady and Rodgers so I'm fine with my qb not running all over the field

If the Raiders sign Odell during the season, this Raiders offense has serious "greatest show on turf" vibes.

I don't think they have the cap space to add another super star. I don't know that for sure, but they spent some money this year.

9:56, I'm surprised he didn't hit the seam. They in cover 3 and didn't get a great collision on the top Seam. That's open!

Yeah im sure you would have hit it, champ

@@jonathanm8273 I haven't played QB since Optimus, Lol. I speak from my experience as a former coach and Defensive back that played 8 years of football on defense.

Carr's biggest flaw is his lack of aggression, dude has a seriously underrated arm but he gets too comfortable attacking underneath
@mroverdose142 жыл бұрын
@@AlexRollinsNFL Yeah, I heard from media and fans. Just never really studied him. I feel like an NFL QB can make that throw. Safety on the opposite hash and no collision. I mean it does depend on his progression but it looks like he staring it down or at least on that side of the field looking for the hitch.
@AlexRollinsNFL2 жыл бұрын
@@mroverdose14 As Kurt said it's hitch to seam to Juke (but that's still depending on coverage). In my honest opinion I don't think Carr ever fully recovered mentally from his 2016 injury. You can watch his footwork, it's never been the same since

What’s up with Kurt Warners sound?

The Raiders should score a lot of points this year, but I think they will also allow a lot. I’m also not sold on their line blocking for either pass or run; they just have so much there with their skill-position guys that they will score some even when they can’t protect. I see this team being in a lot of shootouts. I would say they could win as few as seven games, or as many as twelve, or pretty much any number in between. Health, turnovers, and red zone performance will be huge. This feels like a team that will be quite susceptible to luck, both good and bad.

Noone knows how good McDaniels in LV or Hacket in Denver will be as head coaches. As a Broncos fan I still remember Josh bringing in Tim Tebow and for that will never trust him again but yes that was a long time ago. And Carr seems talented but does he have that extra gear down the stretch - we just haven't seen it. Chargers are scary on paper but haven't proven anything. Only KC has proven itself to be elite so bring on the games as one or more of these teams is going to break out and some others are going to crash and burn.

hey , I don't know about that extra gear , but I do know HE'S WON A LOT OF GAMES FROM BEHIND ! ☠️☠️☠️

Can't say for Hackett since its going Russ' way regardless. But for McD he's put up a competent body of work post Brady with the Pats where he had to make the offense work. Belichick trusted McD's play calling even during the Cam Newton run which was pretty impressive for a few weeks. So at the very least McD's offensive play calling will be more efficient in getting the most out of his playmakers. Better than Greg Olson who was the Raider's OC last season and he stunk. But in terms of the game managing and the minutia of that, McDaniels has to show his growth on that end.
