My husband and I had just gotten in our car to celebrate for our sons birthday, who we lost in 2018. I turned on the radio in the middle of the message to the man who lost his son.. God definitely spoke to us. We just happened to turn on the radio at that moment, to hear what Dr. D and Dave had to say. Thank you.

Within the first fifteen minutes John said ‘so you’re saying there’s a chance’ from the movie Dumb and Dumber. Movie quotes is how I connected with my boys growing up and even still my husband and I do it all the time. Love it!!

No Dave, not formula!! Breastfeeding protects baby and mom's health, no worries for contaminated formula or shortages, and it costs only a little extra calories for mom to eat! Save money folks and nurse your babies if at all possible.

How about you stop telling other people what to do. BF isn't an option for some people for various reasons. I certainly don't need bfing advice from Dave.
@sweetpea49672 жыл бұрын
@@colleenduffy1139 wow...really strong emotional response there! Fact is, formula is EXPENSIVE and BF costs 500 extra calories a day for mom! He brought it up and anyone who cannot BF, (which is not the norm or common) would have to pay for formula, which I addressed saying "if at all possible ". But promoting the use of formula doesn't make sense, especially financial sense, which is the topic of his program! You don't "need" Dave telling you anything. With everything going on with food shortages and formula contamination, it is irresponsible to promote formula as an equal food source! BF moms can still feed their babies in a crisis and trying to help moms relactate, when they couldn't afford the amount of formula needed for their baby or when living in a tent city after a crisis, has made an impression on me. So, I will NEVER stop encouraging women to feed their babies in this low cost, low waste and low carbon footprint, while being physically beneficial for the baby and the mother.
@hillcountryplacentas49162 жыл бұрын
@@colleenduffy1139 Hmmm…the majority of women can in fact breastfeed. So you think it’s ok for Dave to promote formula feeding but not breastfeeding? Makes sense. 🙄

Yesterday's show, a 23 year old woman living with her grandmother in San Francisco, forced labor from childhood until she was injured. This is what some child labor trafficking looks like. I'm so sorry for her.

I'm sorry, I don't have the link. I was listening on the podcast. Her parents forced her from age 11 to work in their construction company for no pay until she was 20 when she got injured at work. They wouldn't help her them 'because she was an adult'. Estranged from them, at 23 living with her grandma in San Francisco, who now wants her to move out. No other family to lean on.

So I'm 30 and make abkut 45 a year... Never owned a vehicle and that is the only way I could afford my first condo , I'm selling it now and pocketing 250k that it appreciated in 5 years and moving into a bungalow and living in the basement with my gf and renting out the top floor ... A lesson I learned is that not owning a car is a huge advantage and if you're not always ready for an opportunity you will miss the good ones .... If I had a car I'd have no money and no house and that to me is mind blowing at 30

in Canada we have government health insurance, what do Americans do when they dont have adequate health insurance? do they get covered or are they just out of luck ?

We have to pay the difference up to the out of pocket cap. The cap varies depending on the individual’s insurance.

Asheville NC caller made 34k as a server (didn’t she say that?) she will make the same range of salary as a phlebotomist….
@sweetpea49672 жыл бұрын
Well...not necessarily because she can also work night shift with differentials in a hospital and sign up for OT hours. Plus most health systems are going to provide other benefits including some tuition reimbursement for her education plans. So she can rake in more than 34k. 🙂

Question.. If your house has a low interest rate, wouldn’t it be financially better to invest the 35k instead of throwing it at the home? With an 8-12% return on the investment that brings you more money compared to what you lose with the home.. Thoughts?

You’re missing out on risk. All debt has a risk. Plus, mixing the two means you net ~7%/year in interest (11% investing minus the ~3-4% mortgage interest). Paying the mortgage off first means you have that much MORE money to invest AND it nets 11%/year, so you can easily catch up. Sample out the math in your situation.
