I think when a rapper says "i'll kill this beat" on a beat, then you send them a whole new beat, the chances of them vibing the same are really small. Some rappers could "kill any beat", but when I take the time to say I'd kill a beat - I mean THAT beat. Cool video though man!

KMSN sings in Polish :) and the lyrics of attached part is: (english version below) Chciałbym Cię móc zabrać ze mną samolotem, gdy lecę czwarty raz w miesiącu na hotel. Chciałbym zobaczyć cię we śnie Łoł czy tam jesteś Mijają nam lata, każdy dzień bez Ciebie to strata, jak żyjemy wiecznie to wierzę, że będziemy razem i wszystko nam się poukłada żyję według zasad I'd like to take you on a plane with me when i fly fourth time at month. I'd like you know my biggest folly which i have done when not being with You. I want you to be my wife, i wanna share with You the first million and build a house third move at the year it's over. I'd like to tour the world with You, I'd like it to be ours cause even though wings are spreaded out and I won a lot I don't know who I will give my heart. I wanna hear You screaming that you are there I wanna hear You screaming that you are there i'd like to see you in a dream wow are you there? Years passes, every day without you is a loss If life is eternal I belive We will be togheter and We'll deal with this I live by the rules...

They honestly werent great... not horrible, but definitely not original and very forgettable in both flow and lyrics.. thats only my opinion though "killing" a beat means more than to rap "ok" or even "good", killing a beat means really playing to its strenghts and using its full potential, i also thnk the beat was pretty boring and standart so maybe they actually fit it tbh also 1 week is plenty to write a part or two, i mean noone asked them to write a full blown song

Kind of agree that changing the beat wasn’t the smartest thing to do if you wanted them to kill a beat. Not many rappers or artists can kill a beat or instrumental if they don’t fuck with it or if they’ve never heard it before. You kind of forced it on them rather than letting them do their thing. I think "killing it" is mostly a personal preference anyways, everyone just likes whatever they like. Being "good" at music is the most useless thing in the world anyways since perfectly following the rules helps noone. People could make a perfect rap and it could still sound like shit and the sound is the only positive aspect of it so its just a waste of time and space.

I'm going to say its not fair in that it wasn't the beat they said they would kill and that its a whole different vibe then what they were use to. I wouldn't be frustrated. Its like saying I'd crush a philly cheesesteak sandwich and you serving Pad Thai. To them they are thinking I'll eat but its not what they were prepped or used to.
@BattleBladeWarrior
@BattleBladeWarrior 2 жыл бұрын
Same. I thought that kind of wrecked it too, because there's no guarantee these guys would have come out and made those comments on this beat in particular. That said, they all gave it their best, and I think they each did a damn good job, as far as the style they were going for. The beat he gave them was very laid back, and they came in with that same energy. In the future though, I think he should just call them out on the same beat they post on, going forward. Then we'd really see if they could back that up.

They were actually all kind of enjoyable in their own ways. I think my fave was the Dear Diary one cause it had a strong narrative component which could have a lot of potential (watching someone’s unraveling thru their diary entries, or maybe their victory). I also could relate to it a lot lol. I liked the use anxiety being a monopoly in the economy of his life or something like that. I thought it was clever. Buuut I also love emo music (and I could sense some emo inspiration goin on in that one) so maybe it really is a matter of taste. But there really wasn’t any one of those that was super unlikable/unlistenable to me. The first one had a really pleasant flow to me, the non-English one was really polished and smooth which made it enjoyable, the Dear Diary one had a great narrative, and the last one was also good. The last one was maybe my least favorite but only if I really had to pick. I’d listen to the full song of any of these. It’s like they all both didn’t kill it in their own ways and did kill it in their own ways hah. This was a cool challenge.

Dude oath actually murdered that, in my opinion. I can hear the pain in his voice, he didn't just rap to rap. Man tried his hardest to speak his mind His hook wasn't bad, certainly better than a lot of smaller rappers that I fw. He had an early Witt Lowry, pre-peep Ryan Oakes type vibe I'd definitely work with the dude if I had absolutely any following at all

Is this so? I'm sorry but I don't agree. Usually you'll notice a lot of successful people in different fields are the loudest at times. I think this is a biased perspective based on how people want to feel about people they view as being too "arrogant". Think about it does this same argument fit for people like Kanye, Kobe, Cristiano Ronaldo, Michael Jordan? Or even very successful business men? I just think some people talk a big game and some people don't. Some people who talk a big game can deliver and some of them don't. And tbh these guys got a chance to showcase themselves, gain experience and even possibly fans because they were vocal so... And I think the last guy actually did well and his delivery fit the beat and the vibes of it
@ygmkeff789
@ygmkeff789 2 жыл бұрын
@@RJWM1999 at first excuse me for my English it's not my first language. Thats why i said to a certain point when you put confidence and skill in a relation shown in a graph at first your confidence is high but your skill is not because you don't know very much about the field then the more you learn the less confident you get about your skill because you notice how complex the field is and after that the more you learn the confidence comes back until you master it and you are again very confident. But you are right you can't generalize and there are people where this doesn't fit but for most it does

Honestly, I started music seriously one year ago and as an artist you really have to find your own sound and rhythm. It may be difficult finding that due to so much music and the whole creative industry has started to get watered down. Social media makes things popular and can hurt some areas in the industry. For my self, I know that I am no where near ready to say that I would “Kill this beat” because I then took a break to discover myself and develop a sound that feels like me. I also stutter and speak three languages so these are challenges that I want to keep working on to fix and pronounce my words clearly and with emotion.
