The rapture is one of the most commonly believed and in my opinion, misunderstood doctrines in the church today. In this video we examine the Exodus story and what Paul really meant about meeting the Lord in the air.

The Old Testament is all of the prophecies and the New Testament is the fulfillment of ALL of the prophecies, therefore ALL prophecies have been fulfilled in Christ.

Dear Travis - So encouraging to see the value placed on typology in this video. Typology holds the key, or is the correct lens, for clear spiritual vision yet I perceive it’s value in modern church as almost nil. My journey into typology began in 2018 and whereas I did use videos to get me going, after a while I realised just how little or how basic this subject is understood in modern church and that it appears to me that I’m practically pioneering this area now as no one is even asking the questions I’m asking, never mind answering them for me. And even in full Preterist circles, all the people I’ve learned from, as clever as they are, just do not appear to be able to see clearly beyond 70AD and appear to me to be so deceived thinking the world is just going to carry on for hundreds if not thousands of years. You didn’t say this in your video but I think you implied that Paul at his time of writing would have known the 40 years to 70AD was almost complete from the Moses on the mountain typology similarly to Daniel knowing for certain that his 70 years was almost complete from accurately interpreting the prophet. And similarly, I am spending my time now, currently with absolutely no success I have to say, trying to show people how by this very same method of NT typological interpretation that we can see for definite that the ‘aeon’ or however you wish to view this period of church history, from 70AD to present, is drawing to a close. Typology reveals all. I would love to bounce a few ideas off guys like yourself because I don’t have all the pieces to the jigsaw by any means but it’s too detailed for the comments section here - and I’m just a humble labourer without any presentation or technical skills to make videos. One more comment regarding biblical matters, you mentioned Paul’s words being in the aorist tense in Eph 2. I’m no Greek scholar but I do believe the aorist is primarily past tense and that’s no problem reading it past tense here. Think of it like this, if you step “in an aeroplane” in New York and sit back in the seat and do absolutely nothing, if you remain “in that plane”, you will be at whatever location that plane is at any point in the future. Similarly, “in Christ Jesus“ we are taken anywhere that Jesus Christ is, and if He is currently sat in heavenly places then my friend, so are me and you - in Him. Those two words in him are the two most amazing words in the Bible for me. So, Eph 2 past tense works fine. As with everything else in the Bible, read it how it is, although I do have to admit that there are so many places in our English bibles that are translated with a future tense when if we look deeper they are actually past tense in the Greek (including a very very crucial example in Eph 2!!). That was something else I realised a long while ago, how our Bible translators are deliberately placing things in the future anywhere they can reasonably easily get away with it, to support dispensational theology. Just a couple of points now on a personal or practical level if I may. As we grow spiritually (and physically too) it is so so easy to lose our humbleness and humility, it’s something I have to try to fight all the time, pride. When I hear a preacher, let’s say called Simon, teach something deep and then continue “you say ‘Simon’, I can see how you arrive at this… but just how do you arrive at….that?” Whenever I hear a teacher do something like that I immediately sense an element of spiritual pride and it’s something I no longer do. Every ounce of spiritual understanding we have comes from Him and I must always remember that. Finally, and I speak this from experience. Yes, I know Paul taught, and sometimes practically told, people to give money, but from experience I have seen that true men of God don’t have to ask for or encourage people to give money to themselves. The Lord looks after those in His ministry. Be blessed.

Go not from house to house. We have lost the concept of simple hospitality that the ancients practiced. He is not asking for your "tithe" but for help so he can continue to serve here where it costs him time & money to do so in the marketplace of KZbin.

@@robinq5511 Fair point. I guess it’s a little like if a person gets ill when they are first born again they go to the doctors but as the believer matures they learn to trust God more and more. We’re all on a journey and we all start off as babes. Also, if you’ve ever done any street preaching or evangelism, from experience I can tell you 90% of people I’ve met have 1 of just 4 or 5 main objections to the message we bring, one of those 4/5 objections being ‘the preacher just wants your money’. That was my objection for 28 years of my life so I guess I’m always going to pick up on that and that’s the reason why I never have asked for a penny/cent in all my time as a follower of Christ. An elder quietly giving money away and not begging every week was the major catalyst in me attending his church and consequently getting saved.

And that generosity is not limited just to "money". I feel that Travis is being generous with his time and money so I am willing to do likewise because I find his content edifying. However though he mentioned decorating his new house, I can see beyond that as to what he was asking for help with...😍

Thanks for the comments Robin, and yes we do also accept canned food 😂. Seriously though, Powerslave the last thing I ever want to do is come across like I’m beating anyone over the head for money. People were actually sending me a little here and there well before I ever set up the public options to make it easier. I appreciate ever cent anyone is willing to give to support my efforts, but I’m going to continue to teach the word of God whether I make money doing it or not. My long term goal (and dream is probably a more fitting word) is that through this and various other means, I would be able to earn enough revenue to study, write, and teach full time. I work 50 hours a week at a very stressful job, and have a 5 year old, a 2 year old, and a newborn at home so I don’t have near the time or energy I’d like to devote to those things. If the Lord never opens that door, that’s ok though-I’ll do what I can with the time he gives me. I was half-joking about the house decor, although I did give her a little to buy some stuff. My biggest immediate need though is a new computer because my current one is archaic, and at this point I’ve brought in about half of what I need to buy one (which is amazing and humbling to me). When I finally do hit that goal, I’ll get one and it’ll be used to study and produce videos more efficiently. I’m not doing this to buy a mansion and drive a Lamborghini, and if that’s the message you heard from me, I apologize. I’m just a normal guy trying to steward God’s money well and honor him with the abilities he’s given me, to whatever degree that looks like.

Dear Robin, did I actually say I couldn’t or wouldn’t send Travis any money? I find it very revealing the way in which people read and respond to messages, it reveals to me a lot about the lens through which that person reads the message. Maybe I wasn’t fully clear but I was trying to imply that as a Christian matures he learns that God puts it into the heart of the people to sustain him without the need for him asking, especially in public. The most interesting thing I have learnt from this little thread here though is how it was the money comment that was picked up on and not the fascinating deeper spiritual matters of this video that I was hoping to maybe develop and feed from. I think we would all agree that we are all probably actually pioneering this stuff, no matter how hard I look I can’t seem to find anybody to answer some of the questions that I’m asking - because no one else asks them. I too have always materially blessed the people who spiritually feed me, I’ll keep on looking in my search for deeper insight…. We all have limited resources and these days I have chosen to only give to those who feed me as there’s just too many good causes if we don’t make guidelines. I fully empathise with Travis and his position, that was my position a decade ago with 3 young lads. Looking back I would say it’s impossible to do a full-time job, be a proper devoted father to 3 kids and to do this sort of work all at the same time because I too am looking for and hopeful of being in the position one day to study full-time because this really is a full-time job. Oh and let’s not forget probably the most important thing of all, we must spend that quality time with our Lord each day, and for me I can say that really is when the illumination happens. We don’t learn this stuff, it’s illuminated to us as we walk with Him in our quiet times. I have learnt from experience that’s why Paul advises people not to get married, it’s simply impossible to find the time to do these things with a family and full time employment. Be blessed.

Travis, I wrote this a long time ago. I found that quote you mentioned regarding "apantesis" in the commentary mentioned: "Is no one as intrigued as I am about this? I know there are not details given, but what if the OT saints and all who have died in Christ since the first century are among us? These Scriptures sure seem to indicate that they are to me. Jesus said in 14:3 "If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, you may be also. It intrigues me to think of the fact that most of the disciples were physically dead at Christ's Parousia, but that He told them that when He returned, they would be with Him where He was. Then in 1 Thes 3:13 "so that He may establish your hearts without blame in holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus WITH ALL HIS SAINTS." and 1 Thes 4:17 "Then we who are alive and remain will be caught TOGETHER WITH THEM (the dead) in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air and so we shall always be with the Lord" and 1 Thes 5:10 "(Jesus) who died for us, so that whether we are awake or asleep, we will live TOGETHER with Him." and 2 Cor 4:14 "knowing that He who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also (if we die before the parousia?) with Jesus and will present US WITH YOU." Could this mean that all the church: past, present and future, are now living together in the kingdom with Christ WITH US? That perhaps we just cannot see the great cloud of witnesses or the redeemed that surround us in the spiritual realm? The New International Biblical Commentary says this about 1 Thes 4:17, "Greek for "meet" is apantesis, which seems to have been a kind of technical term for the official welcome of a newly arrived dignity. We are not told what will follow the meeting in the "aer" but the imagery expressed by apantesis points to the earth as their final destination." That ties in with what Jesus said as well in John 14:3.

Superbly explained; some great OT typology; those who like to kick against the pricks need to stop dragging their feet on this issue and get on board sooner rather than later(as in the imminent future ). Side point: the Muslims also are looking forward erroneously to the “Last Day and the Judgement”; once the whole Church gets to grips with the issue of Christ’s Return in 70AD we can see a wider impact hopefully in that particular world.

All of the prophecies centered around the house of Israel. That is my conclusion too. However, 1 Thessalonians 4 was their last day, their last Yom Teruah. John 6:44 and 1 Thessalonians 4 all occurred on the same day. Their last day was when they were in the “wilderness” (Petra) on Tishri 5 of AD73 (September 22, AD73). In Matthew 19, Jesus told them those who leave their father, mother, houses, land etc. will judge the 12 tribes of Israel. 1 Thessalonians 4 supports this.

Yes, the scriptures have been fulfilled, but some of the things you said today are very controversial. Going to the Greek translations is great, but there are also times when things need to be received in the spirit. Luk 17:34 “I say unto you, In that night there shall be two men on one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left “… Here the word “night” always refers to Satan or darkness, it means moral decay, moral darkness, and bed means they slept, they let their guard down, they did not remain awake, high alert waiting on the Lord…..they relaxed in the darkness….so the one taken, was taken by darkness, obviously, and the one left, must have been left for day, or Christ, or was left because they were awake doing the Lords work….. so, maybe if we look at all the verses regarding “one taken, one left”…..we can pick up all the clues as to what it really means….to be taken and left. If we back up a few verses in Luke 17:26 “The world shall be taken unawares with the sudden judgment of God: and therefore the faithful ought to watch continually.” See, here it’s basically saying the same thing about being “taken”, caught off guard, taken by darkness…..while the faithful, were not taken, but left to watch continually…….
