I was there when he delivered this message, and I am telling you it was powerful! Watching this video 30 years later still blows me away! Of course, the music was trimmed off from the beginning, but the message itself was so moving and powerful. When the altar call was given, over 300 people went to the altars, including my then first wife, who ran to the altar, and we were in the back of the church. You see the size of this structure, we were in the back, she ran to the altar, and she beat everyone there! People…..all of you who watch this and are moved by this message. I urge you with everything in me, I urge each and every one of you to share this message. Share this message like you have never shared anything in your life! This message needs to reach as many people as it can as quickly as you can! There can be no shucking and jiving or procrastinating with this message, it needs to be distributed. If anyone reading this has the means to make DVDs of this message, do so. Dwight Thompson ministries has the DVD I believe for $10. Buy 10 of them, give them away. Plant the seed! If the churches could get some real preaching under men called of god like Dwight Thompson himself and certainly not some seminary school of theology who after years of biblical studies they hand them a degree in biblical studies then told this qualifies you to be a pastor or a minister of the gospel when all you really needed was god the Almighty’s calling upon your life because he will by his holy spirit and calling on your life will qualify you himself. and he will be speaking directly through you and his guidance will reach all who you preach his word too for he by his spirit is who is speaking through your willingness to obey. Jesus Christ is the way the truth and the life no man comes unto the father but by me. Jesus is the only way and there is no other way.

When Jesus comes the SECOND time He will appear to those who love Him. Hebr 9:28. This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.( Second time.Acts 1:11.) Immediately after the tribulation Jesus shall appear from Heaven. (SECOND TIME) Matt. 24:29-30. When Jesus comes the second time He will descent from Heaven and we will meet Him in the air.( 1Thes 4:16). When Jesus comes the second time we will be gathering together unto Him.(2 Thes 2:1). When Jesus comes the second time He will come in flaming fire and vengeance to those unbelievers who had fallen away from the truth and then Jesus will be glorified in his saints in that day.(2Thes 1:8,10). Before Jesus comes the second time a falling away from the truth must take place for the antichrist to be revealed.(2Thes 2:3) When Jesus comes the second time He will destroy the antichrist with the brightness of His coming and those who had fallen away from the truth..(2Thes 2:8,10). Nobody is going to disappear (raptured) before Jesus comes the second time.

It's great to see that someone in the comments isn't clueless (and disobedient) concerning correct scripture teaching. The only thing you forgot in your message is that when Christ returns, the grave (Sheol) will give up those who are in Christ (Paradise side), and they will meet him in the air. Then those who remain will be changed in an instant! 🎉 Some people, in great error, say it doesn't matter if it's pre mid or post trib. Just as long as you're living right. Huh???? Oh boy. So many folks are under deception and doesn't even know it. If they're willing to not be certain about scripture now, just how easy will it be to whisk them away in other deceptions? When I was 1st born-again, 1992, I believe in the pre-trib rapture, because that's what I was told, by people I figured know. Then I learned scripture Nope. Jesus returns after Trib period, before wrath is poured out. May we all be doing as Jesus said: setting captives free, laying hands on people and seeing them healed and casting out demons. I'm still learning, and trust many in the Church are on the same page (mind renewal). As I think about Christ's return, I'm reminded of his parable of the talents. Our born-again spirit is perfect, lacking nothing. Joined with Holy Spirit, nothing is impossible, and all authority/dominion is ours! Be blessed.

A brief review of Jewish culture reveals that Trumpets are used in a variety of ways for multiple feasts. "The Last Trump" is a specific Hebrew phrase referring to, The Feast of Trumpets. John's revelation, which had not yet been given when Paul wrote 1 Thes. is not refering to any feast but to specific trumpets of judgement. Thank you for your comment.

Brothers and Sisters Please Read: I like Dwight Thompson but the pre-trib rapture is false teaching. Like many, I grew up being taught this also. As I got older and studied myself, I found this doctrine to be false. Here’s why: 1. The teaching of a pre-trib rapture is not in the Bible. There are many versus that are used to infer it along with trying to use types and shadows to teach it (ex. The story of Noah, etc) but the Bible doesn’t teach it. There isn’t one single versus that teaches the church being taken away prior to the tribulation. However, there are four main verses that teach the church will go through: Matthew 24:29-31, 2 Thessalonians 2, 1 Corinthians 15:50-52, and 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17. 2. The pre-trib rapture was not taught or written about by the early church fathers. All of the early church fathers believed the church would go through persecution, suffering, testing, and tribulation. The pre-trib doctrine was not taught in the church until the mid 1800s by John Darby and Margaret McDonald. 3. The western church is the only segment of the church that widely teaches pre-trib. Countries in the eastern part of the world, (Middle East, Africa, Asia, etc. do not teach nor even live in a reality of preparing to “escape.” They live in a reality preparing for endurance. Majority if not all Christian’s in these countries are already living in tribulation (not the great tribulation). Western civilization and its church is too comfortable which makes the pre-trib doctrine conducive. No other Christians across the world live in this reality. They live in present tribulation to prepare for future tribulation. The western church will soon join the eastern church in the tribulation but it will be The Great Tribulation. 4. Further, anyone who believes in a pre-trip rapture doctrine is one who has been taught the doctrine by another person who believe it. You’ve never found this doctrine for yourself in the Bible. If you scour the words of Jesus he did not preach a doctrine of exemption or escape. He speaks a message of “the gospel being preached and then the end will come.” Jesus message was one to prepare the church for engagement (to preach and live the gospel so others would be saved in the midst of tribulation) and endurance (to withstand the persecution that will come to us because of it). We will follow in the footsteps of our Lord and lay our lives down for his namesake. The apostles all wrote about this throughout the NT. Do not take anything I say. Read the Bible for yourself and study to show yourself approved. This is the deadliest doctrine in the church today and many will fall away because of it feeling like God has deceived them. Study, study, study. Of course, there is no guaranty that we will see this horrific time on earth, so therefore we should always be ready to see the Lord but we do need to ensure that our families (ex our children) are prepared so the enemy does not sift them.
