Yay you uploaded! ♥I seriously live for your rants, chica. I hope I can get all the Deluxe Style dolls for my birthday. The first four since I'm not a fan of Midge tho. Her face throws me off, no offense. What I truly want for Mattel to do is to make a reboot of the first Fashionistas (the articulated ones). They were so put together and iconic. And the face scults were alluring too. I'm so sad I missed on them!

👏🏻👏🏻 LOUDER FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE BACK 👏🏻👏🏻 glad you got this doll, she’s very pretty! i was interested in buying one until it became clear there was an absolute FRENZY over her … i just don’t have the energy for that kind of stress and anxiety over a $20 playline doll. 😒 boo on mattel for doing this in the first place. they could’ve just said she was a target exclusive instead of this “rare find” nonsense. plus, someone on reddit pointed out that there’s an ‘80s rewind doll with red hair and this sculpt and a much cuter outfit, and i already have her. she’s listed on amazon for a few bucks more than the deluxe style retail price too, so i guess i could always get a duplicate of her if i really need to have a midge to play around with and redress, ‘cause i also don’t love that babydoll dress on her so it would not be staying 😆

@vespiaries Hahaha! Yes this is so true. Mattel has made other dolls similar to this. I saw a collector on tiktok make their own Midge using previous dolls with the Steffi mold and honestly I could not tell the difference! I have yet to get that Rewind doll. She and the Career one are the last 2 I need to complete the collection. 🤣 but LMK how your custom Midge turns out. I am sure she will be beautiful! 🥰

Rare: when I read this evil word in a titel on a secondhand platform I already get a feeling of repulsion. My favourite are those who write it in CAPITALS just to make sure you notice it’s RARE. I don’t know though, everyone blames scalpers but dolls selling for ridiculous prices (don’t tell me a doll that retailed for 25 will ever be worth up to 500) is so normalized that I sometimes get the feeling that I am stupid for not understanding how things works.

I just think it’s sad that it looks like people in collector groups etc seem not no be interested in building a space where we can make reasonable trade and rather support each other, like a safe space from scalpers/ resellers.

@@myonstrauss It's very unfortunate. Greed has completely taken over. Resellers/scalpers have become the new norm. They are everywhere. 😩

I have thoughts! I don't like this sort of release because resellers get wind of it and buy up all the dolls. The blame goes to Mattel in my opinion. They must have been aware of the Mean Girls Bratz mess with resellers and could have done this is a different way. I don't mind a collector buying 2 or buying one for a friend but i have seen videos where people go to every store in their area and buy them all up just to send them to other people. My issue is that none of the people in that area won't be able to find her when someone buys up all the stock. Regardless, at least a collector is getting the dolls. I am a HUGE Midge fan (yes every red haired doll is MIdge to be) and want her very much. I have been to multiple Targets without luck but still hold out hope.

@Spidrick It's very common in the collector world for them to buy dolls for each other. But as you said I rather it be other collectors than scalpers. Yes, Mattel is to blame here. I really hope you're able to get her. I heard she will be on the Target website and Amazon already listed her but she sold out quick. There is other redheaded Midges with the same sculpt. I have seen people customize her and honestly it looks just as good. 🥰

Me and my friend tried to find midge and couldn’t find her. I ended up buying the 80s rewind midge and turning her into my own deluxe version. Not playing Mattel’s chase game. Still occasionally looking but like you said not worth more than retail.

@@Cand581 I was going to do the same. I didn't think I would find her near me, and I have not. She is nowhere to be found in my area, unfortunately. I am so grateful my friend was able to find one for both of us. 🙏

I am going to wait until those scalpers get stuck with the ones they hoarded for profit and have to drop the price, then I may pay for it on the second market. I traveled far from nearest Target because their inventory said they had two only to be told by the employee that they were gone. I feel he didn't want to be bothered and look on the back.

I wanted this doll so badly cause she looks cute, but the moment i heard its a target exclusive, my european hopes were gone. Everytime there are special dolls as target exclusive it makes me kinda angry, cause target is an american thing

I also stated that the doll was picked out for me by a friend. Lastly, it's the Steffi mold, which is extremely popular, specifically the Midge Steffi. Your lack of comprehension skills is really not my problem. You sound extremely dense.
