Question...if I get new coin rolls of pennies from my bank that have not been searched and I find ragged edges like the one looking at here (in front of me) is that a mint error if so is it maybe a defective planchette? I'm unsure about those. It is a 1971 D and I luckily got almost an entire roll with 1970's pennies some of which (by coin snap ) have graded @ a mint state. There were A lot of errors in that roll as well. I have so many more questions but I use coin snap only as reference because I cannot really afford professional grading at this time. I have a ton of older ones in my collection! Thank you for your videos as well but one more question...I foolishly traded my silver jewelry at my yard sale last summer to a neighbor for a bag of rolled wheat cents....I had just started collecting and didn't know about cleaned coins,he had evedentally cleaned quite a few of them. How much value would that knock off if I sold any? There were a major amount of 1944 in there as well. I feel so dumb for trading but had I known he had done that would have never did that. In those pennies I did find a 1919 wheat penny and one that has an unreadable date but under a microscope it looked like a 1909 I need help! Thanks again

He doesn’t respond to questions - or , I’ve never seen him do so. Blueridgesilverhound has videos on his channel in which he offers some referrals that he recommends - people who DO respond to questions . If you haven’t yet seen his channel I highly recommend him as he has LOADS of info from a lifetime of it and he’s super generous with it. He’s just way too busy to answer people personally . I think his name is Josh too (?) . Good luck ! Oh , as for your washed pennies , they won’t even grade them but there are people who don’t care much whether a coin they really want has been cleaned - of course they won’t pay as much , but it’s better then nothing ! Nothing special just means it was made in philly Pennsylvania. They made several billon that year and ebay will make you think no mint mark penny is worth a lot but not worth anything but a penny.
