The monastery set from dark souls 2 is way more rare than the pickaxe. There is only one enemy in the game that drops it and he only spawns on ng+ and he's hidden behind a painting in aldia's keep. He doesnt respawn so you have to burn bonfire aestectics if you want to farm him, that means killing the dragon every time you dont get a piece. I dont know the drop chance but it isnt very high i believe

the video also fails to notice that the reason the haligtree crest shield is such a pain to farm is because you can't easily go back to a site of grace to respawn the knight, you effectively have to fast travel after every single kill. so unless if you are willing to go through 20-50 silver pickled fowl feet, you're better off just farming for it without them with regular discovery boosting gear. still outdone by the magma blade imo, just because a 1% drop rate from an enemy type of which there are only 2 in the whole game which aren't even particularly close to a site of grace is atrocious

I absolutely agree and I'll also say that overall it is harder to farm than the shield. I got the shield after half an hour of farming. Failed to the get the Noble's slender sword after3 hours of farming where 3 of them roam near the Waypoint Ruins. Edit: Upon reloading my save, I noticed that I actually have farmed quite a few Noble Slender swords. What I failed to get was the illusive Noble's Estoc 😅

For darksouls 2 I would argue that the reskin weaons are actually the rarest items in the game. The pickaxe sidequest is a chore sure but it's a guranteed drop if you do it. While the weapon reskins are no longer accesible and can only be recieved through trade with a player who has it. As far as I know they are not in scholar of the first sin and were only obtainable prior to each DLC release in the abandoned house's basement in majula. Granted they are functionally identical to their non-reskined counterparts. I still have my white katana on my 360 save file haha.

Imho, fingerprint is much better. Pearlshield tali with it as well, and you have 85%-20% holy damage taken which is like, 50-60 per hit. It has lower stability than verdigris but you can infuse holy ground which gives you regen and reduces damage taken down to like, 30

Ds1 was my very first dark souls game and the sheer luck I had on my first playthrough was absolutely STUPID, and I had no clue until I talked to my friend who had like 100 hours in it. It started when the Taurus demon jumped off the bridge when he still had about 80% HP left, so I just skipped that fight. The channeler at the top of undead parish dropped the trident, I also had the iron golem jump off his arena as well, I got the black knight great sword from the very first black knight and basically just pumped strength and cakewalked the rest of the game.

After farming everything it's possible to farm in elden ring I'd say that the rarest item in Elden ring is the Watchdog's Greatsword. Because it's a really low chance drop on a mini boss in a late game area. It's dropped by one of the cat miniboss (but this time it's a trashmob and not a miniboss) who is also completely invincible if you dont put it in a light spot (and it's also a gank fight to defeat it).

I think it's faster to farm the Haligtree Great Shield from the grace near Malenia. You just warp there, turn around, go up the elevator, run out of the church, and you're there. By running back and forth between him and the grace, you can get 3 kills during the duration of a Fowl Foot. Only took me maybe 15-20 minutes to get the drop. Farming for two Magma Blades was much worse, at least on one of my characters.

He's really not that hard. Not only is there one close to a grace, (which does matter) but there is a slit in the wall by said grace where you can shoot him from and never have to even fight him. He doesn't teleport up to you for some reason. That's how I farmed mine. 😅

There's a rarer item for Elden Ring. The Magma Blade weapon has a 1% drop chance and can only be obtained from 2 Man-Serpent enemies in Volcano Manor. Thankfully, it's worth it since it's a fantastic weapon for Faith builds, and the Ash of War is also really good.

The Celebrant Sickle is worse than the magma blade, it's drop chance is half that of the magma blade and the enemies who drop it are about as scarce. I think the Fire Prelates Thorned Whip deserves a mention as well. It's drop % is higher but you have to farm the prelate at the mountain top of the giants to get it, and there's no quick or easy way to do that because it has a ton of health and resistances.

Dark Souls 2’s rarest item is the *_Black Witch Domino Mask._* It’s dropped by The Dual Avelyn Guardians in Belfry Sol. These enemies don’t respawn, so you have one chance per playthrough. And it’s a very rare drop rate. The Pickaxe would’ve been harder to find initially, but once you know about it, it’s easy and guaranteed. Btw, the Pickaxe is incredibly good as a boss killer special. It hits like a truck, gets great weapon hyperarmor, thrust counter damage w/ Leo Ring (bosses are easy triggers), and has lower stamina use than a straight sword. It has terrible durability, so it can’t be mained unless you pack Repair Sorcery.

For Elden Ring, if you have the DLC, just get the Black Steel Greatshield, at +8 upgrade with sacred infusion you get 100% holy damage negation and 95% physical damage negation, great to use against Twink scourge Radahn in his second phase (don't block the meteorite nuke though) and perfect against the Elden beast.

You should see some of the hard to get items in the kings field and shadow tower games. Shadow tower even tracks your kill/item completion % for each level and makes it basically impossible to get 100% in some areas. One boss has like 4 different items they could drop, so you can only get one if you get any at all. There's even a super rare drop from a super rare secret boss that is unlikely to even spawn let alone drop the item.

there's actually 2 far rarer weapons in Elden Ring. I assume most people don't even know they exist. The Celebrant's Rib-Rake and the Celebrant's Sickle only have 0.5% chance to drop from 2 specific enemies each in Windmill Village.

But those enemies are very easy to farm quickly with AOE attacks and a nearby grace. The grind for the Magma Blade is FAR worse since you have to run really far every attempt.

Farmed Celebrants Rib Rake for probably 2-3 hours a day for 2-3 months in 2022, across 3 playthroughs... have NEVER gotten the weapon. Not even bothering trying it since after DLC dropped

Try the weapon first before saying such a thing, both the Ghost Blade and Jagged Ghost Blade have their own unique moves. *[edit]* 1:59 - again, no, as I said already, it's unique. The R2 of the Ghost Blade is a wild flurry of left/right slashes with a short wind-up, press again for a slightly different follow-up attack. The R2 of the Jagged Ghost Blade is a very fast chain of violent reverse-gripped downward stabbing motions with a fairly significant wind-up, press again for more of the same but with a higher count of stabs.

On my recent NG+1 I decided to have all weapons and armor in the game. So I made build with 99 arcane. With silver scarab talisman it's 274 discovery. So with this build chance of getting, for example, haligtree crest greatshield is 10,84%. So you need to kill this knight on average only 9 times. As you have so many arcane use something with ARC scaling. I used Mogh spear - 1 charged AoW and knight is done. He isn't very close to grace but the way to him is simple and has no other enemies. So it's like 10 minutes at max. Much harder is to get celebrant's sickle. It's only 0,5% chance. And there are only 2 of them near graces. So it's 36 attempts on average. And they suroounded by many other celebrants so it's better to kil them all to make returning to grace faster. I used sacred relic blade to clean up that place with 3 AoW waves each time. Took me about an hour. Also damn envoy's greathorn. Chance is pretty good - 4%. But there are only few of them and they placed in very uncomfortable spots. Their ranged attack can kill you ver quickly, they have so many HP, they may fall and if you kill them during their jumping attack loot will appear in the air and you cannot get it.

In DS1, Channeler's Trident has the same drop rate as both of the ghost blades, but it only drops from one-time channelers, aside from one that respawns in Duke's (At the end of the game), therefore it's probably the most rare drop in that game (Sourced from Fextralife wiki)

The Haligknight shield did actually get outclassed by the Black Knight Greatshield in the DLC. It's got 5% more holy resist and afaik is just dropped by one of the boss health bar black knights you can find. Very good shield btw, tanked the entirety of that boss's final phase just perfect blocking everything with practically 0 holy damage chipping my health away.

I'm currently carrying 17million runes in Elden ring.😅 Level 290 on NG+9, I don't really want to level up more because I like being able to get summoned to help out people. Also, having that many runes really makes dying that much more intense😂

I would say that the rarest item(s) in Dark Souls 2 are between the Monastery Scimitar & the Old Mirrah Greatsword since they aren't guaranteed drops and the enemies that drop them will not respawn in the current playthrough or without bonfire ascetic. Edit: As well as the reskinned weapons that were available in the vanilla game for a VERY limited time.

The Haligtree Crest Greatshield does actually drop from the two knights that guard the Elphael Inner Wall site of grace, that’s where I’ve been farming it from. Still incredibly rare to see it drop though.

That's wild that the ghost blade is the rarest in ds1. I've beaten ds1 probably around 15 times and I've gotten the ghost blade at least a handful of times. Yet the one weapon I never got, except for the one time I grinded for around 4 hours to get, was the Channelers Trident. I've gotten that approximately twice and both were for grinding out the knights honor achievement. Though the second grind I got it on my second attempt. EDIT: made this comment before seeing there is a "jagged ghost blade" that's more than likely what I've been collecting.

IMO the Domino Mask in DS2 is way harder to get even one of it. Dropped by one enemy NPC that only spawns once, on an optional route that leads to basically nowhere, and has a horrible drop rate. Its pretty strong, buffing every spell source damage with -Max HP as a downside.

I think the rarest weapon in DS2 is the painting guardian blade, it has very little drop rate of one enemy in particular that only apear one time per playthrough after ng+, the second one is the lion mage crown that it is drop by an enemy that only appears once per playthrough

1 of all, great video. It shows me an armor set and a ring, ive never head of.Well, nobody would believe me, but i have actually 1 jeavy crossbow, 2 ghost daggers and a greatshield. And the actual rearest weapon in elden eing is the nobles sword with like 0.01% dropchance.
