Wow! Thanks for showing my Huntail plays Verlis! You're correct, Huntail @ Bold is full HP/Def investment with the odd point out being in Sp. Def! I didn't invest into any more special bulk because Huntail doesn't really have much going for it there, and when I'd start taking away from his physical bulk, he became more underwhelming, but as Pachirisu taught us, tanks were made out of less! I chose Brine over Scald, and believe me, I did like Scald, primarily because it could interfere with the toxic stall but also because I fantasize over 195 base damage moves with 100% accuracy, too juicy to pass up. The combo here goes Toxic, protect, Super Fang, and then protect, and that usually kills (had one game where it didn't). Thanks again, I really enjoy your videos and your tanky approach to the competition, and that really inspired this build! I can't wait to see what you have in store for us fans next, keep it real! -Zywroh

Just realized this works on Walrein too. Also, something similar can be done with Chesnaught, just instead of Brine use Drain Punch to recover HP after Superfang. It would go something like: Toxic (or Leech Seed for recovery), Spiky Shield (instead of Protect, hurt any physical attacker), Superfang, Drain Punch to finish them and recover. I feel like trying this out now...

How rare would you consider a sweeping Heracross like this? Heracross Item: Wide Lens Ability: Moxie Nature: Jolly Megahorn Earthquake Stone Edge Close Combat When I was able to play Pokemon Y online due to my 2DS having massive problems connecting to my network (and a lot of others to theirs from what I read online, including 3DS) I never came across a Heracross with the same build or be non-mega, with mine winning me a lot of games.

+TheRealShayz Sure thing! Huntail was Bold with 252 HP, 252 Def, and 4 Sp. Def but you could go 4 into Sp. Atk because your Sp. Def is low enough where the one point doesn't make much of a difference.

Brine > Scald in this situation. Super fang means that the opponent will be at less than half, and Huntail needs the base power to finish off opponents. I would guess that a thirty percent chance to burn is outweighed by a good, clean finishing move.

1. The second battle was so dumb. The opponent had little all the opportunity in the world to take out the Huntail (e.g. Return with Kangaskhan, Scald with Suicine). 2. As cheese as the Lefties are, why not Rocky Helmet to get more Super Fang + Brine combos?

You're right, the second battle should not have been the huntail sweep, I get lucky once in a while! Rocky Helmet is a great item as well, but the main focus was more on Toxic, protect, super fang, protect for the kills, brine was the extra tech for physical steel types who couldn't be poisoned. I might have to try Rocky Helmet, thanks!

Yes I was! I'd consider the opponent and I both made mistakes. In hindsight, I should have definitely super fanged into brine rather than toxic stalled the Talonflame. But after that, who's to say Kangaskhan would have been that easy? I appreciated your constructive criticism!

DarkDerpSkillz Xurkitree has 173 base Special Attack and only 83 (I think) base Attack, which means that you should really only be using Special Attacks like Thunderbolt and hidden power. Unfortunately the nature is Careful, which means that Special Attack is lowered by 10%. I don't really see a use for Hypnosis u less you just like using it. My best advice is to use another Xurkitree with a better nature (You should have caught 2) or change up the set.

Of course, glad to spread the love! Huntail is Bold with 252 HP, 252 Def, and 4 Sp. Def, but 4 Sp. Atk would be about the same. It does have the HA Water Veil, but really Swift Swim would work too, I just wanted Water Veil to protect from other bulky waters trying to scald you down for the burn chance.
